As it offers two oscillators, the Korg Monotron Duo delivers a great sound and adds an extra dimension to your music. For a rich, thick, analog tone you can tune the oscillators in unison. Or if you'd like to produce classic soloing sounds and generate new effects, tune the oscillators in intervals.

The familiar Scale function used on the KAOSSILATOR belongs also to the equipment of the Korg Monotron Duo. You can use this button to select one of four scales: Chromatic, Major, Minor, or Off. Choose Major or Minor to generate musically coherent phrases by simply sliding your finger around on the keyboard. Or choose the Chromatic scale to play precise pitches as on a piano.

The X-MOD (cross modulation) circuit which was already used on one of the predecessors of the Monotron Duo can introduce a mild or razor-sharp edge to the overall sound; everything from a rich vibrato to extreme metallic sounds reminiscent of an FM synth.
