First of all, the price, everywhere the device is more expensive. At Recordcase simply TOP. The shipping is super fast, the device itself is really strong. Great possibilities, my first drum machine, I have to learn what's going on first, what I've already found out is very cool. I think that was a right decision.

Timeless drum machine

The TR8S sounds very fat out of the box. I find the XOX Sequencer perfect for techno and tech house. I can just about get over the fact that there is no micro timing. The 2.5 update is a real enrichment in terms of festivals and FM sounds. Clear purchase recommendation, especially here at Recordcase, because fast shipping and the best price!

Very efficient drum machine

I was fealing little bit limited with my drumbrute so I decided to give this TR-8S a shot. And I must admit that I don't feel limited by its features. I love motion recording, and its sound effects which allow to craft quickly something original. A must have.

Above expectations

For me it is like what sought from drums sound especially the snars that I love with its all type that was not available before. It is the instrument of top professionalism.

Ideally together with MX-1

I got the TR-8S as an external drum machine, partly because the interplay with the Roland MX-1 mixer works wonderfully (Aira USB port). In addition, I can now use my electronic Digitakt completely for samples and concentrate exclusively on the rhythm with the TR-8S. The TR-8S is wonderfully easy to use because it fully supports the concept of classic drum machines. The sound library is very extensive, all historical Roland drum machines are included. plus more sound samples and FX. Nevertheless, there is also the option of integrating your own samples via an SD card. Another great thing is that it can be operated both actively (with patterns programmed into the TR-8S) and passively (patterns are programmed in the DAW, eg Ableton, TR-8S only generates the sounds). The parameter lock options are unfortunately far from being as extensive as with the Digitakt, but sufficient for my needs.

Super device - super fast delivery

There are only positive things about the shop. The delivery was extremely fast and the purchase was straightforward. The website did not show the availability of the product, but after telephone inquiries there were still 4 pieces. So it's worth calling. The TR-8 - I'm just exploring - has a very good sound for me. With controller automation via Cubase (all controllers send and receive Midi CC) a great device. And if the sounds are exhausted or do not fit: the TR-8 sends midi notes or can load samples ... So for me the ideal intuitive rhythm sequencer.

A sensible update to the predecessor

I had the predecessor Roland TR-8 for 3 years and recently upgraded to the TR-8S and sold the old one. The upgrade is definitely worth it, not only for the sampling options and the extended library with very useful classic and modern sounds, but also for improved variations of the existing ACB drum sounds. The new 808 snare is crisper with extended decay, and the 909 snare and bass drum are "more precise". The claps also sound much better. The nice thing about the sampler is that the loaded files remain in the memory even after the device is switched off, so that it is immediately accessible when the device is switched on.
