DJ Furniture - everything you need to know
If you're serious about the DJ profession, professional equipment is essential. But a good system alone isn't enough, because where do you set it up? Do you need proper "DJ furniture" for that? Which manufacturers are recommended? Or should I build my own DJ table? Such questions and more will be answered in the following text, so you'll know all about DJ furniture.
The advantage of a DJ desk
A DJ desk has many advantages, primarily for health reasons. A DJ can quickly get back pain due to a hunched posture, so it's most sensible to invest in a professional DJ stand. However, one must be careful that the desk is not too low, as an inappropriate height of the table is also bad for the back.
But also, the way of working at a DJ table is completely different. Standing makes it easier and more comfortable to mix. All keys, buttons, and knobs are easier to operate "naturally," and overall comfort simply increases.
What manufacturers are there on the market?
If you've already dabbled in the subject a bit, you've probably come across the name "Zomo" when it comes to DJ furniture shops. Zomo is recommended by many, whether professional or hobby DJs, and the difference compared to other manufacturers lies in the price-performance ratio. Zomo's well-crafted, sturdy, and durable products are the top choice for many DJs. Even for beginners, Zomo's offers are definitely worth considering, as Zomo also offers entire DJ equipment packages.
How do I find the right table for me?
If you're a DJ on the move a lot, you should, of course, ensure that you can comfortably transport your equipment. Otherwise, as mentioned earlier, you should definitely pay attention to the height of the tables you work with. The general rule is that you should be able to bend your arms at a 90-degree angle to avoid posture problems and back pain.
It should be noted, however, that not all DJ tables have the same height; this varies from club to club. Furthermore, it's important to ensure that the basic functions of the desk are easy to use, which shouldn't be a problem with a new purchase. You should feel comfortable with the desk; that's where your focus should be.
The ideal working height including devices averages 110 cm. Subtracting the controller or media player, which is on average about 10 cm high, leaves an ideal table height of one meter. All Zomo tables offer this ideal working height. A table in Germany is exactly 74 cm high (standardized). Therefore, it's worthwhile to invest in a specific table for DJing.
In our DJ furniture shop, you'll find the suitable selection!
Can I Build a DJ Table Myself?
Of course, you can build your own DJ furniture. There are several options you can try, such as:
- A Lego Desk: This method is probably the most cost-effective and at the same time the most playful. Since you can arrange the bricks as you like, the individuality of the table is guaranteed.
- IKEA Furniture: You can also assemble your desk using IKEA furniture, in most cases the KALLAX shelf from the IKEA range is used as the starting model.
- Trusses: You can also use trusses to build your furniture. There are numerous guides available on the internet for various methods of homemade DJ creations.
Those who are skilled in DIY will surely succeed there. However, it is important to consider that "DIY solutions" can never match the quality, for example, of a Zomo Berlin Decks designed specifically for the needs and requirements of a DJ setup.
Shelves and Furniture for Vinyl Records, Vinyl, and CDs
Anyone who accumulates a large number of vinyl records or CDs over time and enjoys listening to them or sorting them will not be able to avoid having a storage option for their vinyl records. Especially Zomo stands out here with its wide range of stylish storage systems or solutions for DJ CD shelves available in various sizes and with different capacities.
We offer a wide range of LP boxes and CD shelves from our premium manufacturer Zomo. In addition to LPs, 7-inch single vinyl records can also be ideally stored. Most boxes are also combinable and allow for mixed use with CDs, LPs, and singles.
DJ Laptop Stands
Today's DJs rarely play with vinyl, but have switched to solutions with MIDI controllers or media players. So that the laptop does not get damaged and the music library finds its safe place in the DJ setup, good and stable DJ laptop stands are almost indispensable.
It is worth investing in quality to protect the sensitive and often expensive notebook or MacBook from shocks and accidents. Nothing is worse, and especially more embarrassing, than ruining your only music source during a live performance due to a wrong movement or a bump.
