If the freedom of not needing a computer is important to you – or if you want to access streaming services directly via Wi-Fi – the Mixstream series is the better investment, even if the starting price is higher.

Can you also live stream with Numark?

Yes, without any problems. Most Mixtrack controllers have an integrated USB audio interface – the signal arrives directly at the computer and can be fed into a live stream using OBS Studio or similar software. Serato DJ Pro also offers its own recording function for local mix recordings.

How good is the build quality really?

Honest answer: The casings are predominantly made of plastic – that is standard in this price range. What is noticeable in a positive way: The pots and faders feel solid, the jog wheels have noticeable resistance, and the rubber feet prevent the controllers from sliding away while playing. For home studios, events, and parties, the quality is absolutely sufficient. For continuous nightly club use, one would reach for more robust equipment.

Does Rekordbox work with Numark?

Mixtrack controllers are not natively supported by Rekordbox. Those who mainly use Rekordbox are better served with a DDJ controller from Pioneer DJ. The Mixstream series, on the other hand, can read and analyze Rekordbox USB sticks directly – practical when switching between different systems.

Numark or something else?

Numark makes sense when the budget is limited, but functionality and fun should not suffer. In direct comparison with Pioneer DJ or Native Instruments, Numark is significantly cheaper – there are hardly any differences in the basic functions for home use.
