It's an authentic reissue of the stereo delays that formed the centerpiece of Eddie Van Halen's massive 3-cabinet guitar rig, combining all the features into a compact, floor-based stompbox.
With two independent delay lines, the SDE-3000EVH emulates the behavior of two vintage SDE-3000 rack units, allowing you to create a Van Halen-worthy wet/dry/wet rig. It not only replicates the warm tone of its predecessor but also its retro display and panel controls. You can adjust the delay times up to 3000ms and enjoy modulation inspired by the original, including phase switches and high-pass and low-pass filters.
The SDE-3000EVH replicates nearly all the parameters of its predecessor, which you can access through a retro display and panel controls. This pedal also offers 100 storable and recallable presets, including eight from EVH's live rig.
One of the standout features of the original SDE-3000 was its modulation circuitry. The BOSS SDE-3000EVH pedal is equipped with a precise replica of that revered circuit, including depth and rate control. You also have the option to switch the phase of the initial delay and the delay feedback loop independently.
The original SDE-3000 operated in mono, so Edward Van Halen had to use two separate units to integrate it into his guitar rig. The BOSS SDE-3000EVH pedal solves this problem by offering two separate delays in a compact enclosure. Each delay has independent parameters and can be operated either in series or parallel.
The SDE-3000EVH also features send/return functionality, allowing you to insert external pedals or interact with the effects loop of an amplifier using the 4-cable method. It also includes two control jacks for connecting up to four footswitches, two expression pedals, or a GA-FC/GA-FC EX for external operation.
