Product description Boss SDE-3000D
The BOSS SDE-3000D Dual Digital Delay is more than just a tribute to the legendary Roland SDE-3000.
Introduced in 1983, the Roland SDE-3000 has shaped the sound of many legendary recordings as one of the first digital delay devices. The SDE-3000D pedal faithfully recreates this unique sonic aesthetic by reproducing the specific sonic characteristics of the original. This includes not only the distinctive warm delay but also the unique analog LFO and the ability to independently control the phase offset of the two delay lines.
The new BOSS pedal not only delivers the unmistakably warm sound of the original, but its retro design and control panel have also been preserved. With adjustable delay times of up to 3000 ms, modulation inspired by the original, phase switches, and high-pass and low-pass filters, the SDE-3000D offers exceptional musical possibilities.
Although the pedal includes all these classic features, it has been optimized for the requirements of modern guitar rigs. Featuring a switchable footswitch, external footswitch jacks for expanded functionality, MIDI I/O on space-saving mini-TRS jacks, and 100 storable presets, the SDE-3000D is state-of-the-art. Additionally, the stereo I/O provides versatile applications, whether in dual-mono, wet/dry, or stereo configurations.
But that's not all. The reverb pedal also offers enhanced modulation based on the circuitry of the original, allowing you to even adjust the waveform of the LFO. This pedal takes the art of delay to a new level, making it the top choice for guitarists who love the warm, musical sound of the Roland SDE-3000 but need the additional convenience and flexibility of a modern pedal.

Important questions about the article Boss SDE-3000D
Question: What distinguishes the SDE-3000D from the original Roland SDE-3000?
Answer: The pedal recreates the sound character and many controls of the rack delay, while adding two independent delay engines, stereo routing and modern control. It is therefore not a simple recreation of the mono original.
Question: How many delays can be used at the same time?
Answer: Two full-featured delay lines operate with their own parameters. They can be connected in series for complex repeats or in parallel for wide stereo effects.
Question: What delay times are available?
Answer: There are two time ranges from 0 to 1500 ms and from 0 to 3000 ms. The ranges also differ in their frequency characteristics.
Question: Is the SDE-3000D suitable for stereo and wet/dry setups?
Answer: Yes. Two inputs and outputs allow dual mono, stereo and wet/dry configurations; the two delays can be assigned to separate outputs when required.
Question: Can I save my own sounds and switch without abruptly losing the delay tail?
Answer: There are 100 memory locations. When switching memory locations, the current delay signal can continue to ring out.
Question: What control options are available without an additional MIDI controller?
Answer: The three footswitches can be assigned to memory selection, tap tempo, hold and momentary engagement, among other functions. The two control jacks also allow up to four external footswitches, two expression pedals or a GA-FC or GA-FC EX to be connected.
Question: Can the SDE-3000D be controlled via MIDI?
Answer: Yes. MIDI input and output are provided on space-saving mini TRS jacks, allowing integration into MIDI-controlled rigs.
Question: Can the sound of the repeats be shaped precisely?
Answer: Yes. Low-cut and high-cut filters process the feedback signal, while modulation and phase switches for the main delay and feedback loop are also available.
