Product description Boss SDE-3000D

The BOSS SDE-3000D Dual Digital Delay is more than just a tribute to the legendary Roland SDE-3000.

Introduced in 1983, the Roland SDE-3000 has shaped the sound of many legendary recordings as one of the first digital delay devices. The SDE-3000D pedal faithfully recreates this unique sonic aesthetic by reproducing the specific sonic characteristics of the original. This includes not only the distinctive warm delay but also the unique analog LFO and the ability to independently control the phase offset of the two delay lines.

The new BOSS pedal not only delivers the unmistakably warm sound of the original, but its retro design and control panel have also been preserved. With adjustable delay times of up to 3000 ms, modulation inspired by the original, phase switches, and high-pass and low-pass filters, the SDE-3000D offers exceptional musical possibilities.

Although the pedal includes all these classic features, it has been optimized for the requirements of modern guitar rigs. Featuring a switchable footswitch, external footswitch jacks for expanded functionality, MIDI I/O on space-saving mini-TRS jacks, and 100 storable presets, the SDE-3000D is state-of-the-art. Additionally, the stereo I/O provides versatile applications, whether in dual-mono, wet/dry, or stereo configurations.

But that's not all. The reverb pedal also offers enhanced modulation based on the circuitry of the original, allowing you to even adjust the waveform of the LFO. This pedal takes the art of delay to a new level, making it the top choice for guitarists who love the warm, musical sound of the Roland SDE-3000 but need the additional convenience and flexibility of a modern pedal.

Important questions about the article Boss SDE-3000D

Question: What distinguishes the SDE-3000D from the original Roland SDE-3000?

Answer: The pedal recreates the sound character and many controls of the rack delay, while adding two independent delay engines, stereo routing and modern control. It is therefore not a simple recreation of the mono original.

Question: How many delays can be used at the same time?

Answer: Two full-featured delay lines operate with their own parameters. They can be connected in series for complex repeats or in parallel for wide stereo effects.

Question: What delay times are available?

Answer: There are two time ranges from 0 to 1500 ms and from 0 to 3000 ms. The ranges also differ in their frequency characteristics.

Question: Is the SDE-3000D suitable for stereo and wet/dry setups?

Answer: Yes. Two inputs and outputs allow dual mono, stereo and wet/dry configurations; the two delays can be assigned to separate outputs when required.

Question: Can I save my own sounds and switch without abruptly losing the delay tail?

Answer: There are 100 memory locations. When switching memory locations, the current delay signal can continue to ring out.

Question: What control options are available without an additional MIDI controller?

Answer: The three footswitches can be assigned to memory selection, tap tempo, hold and momentary engagement, among other functions. The two control jacks also allow up to four external footswitches, two expression pedals or a GA-FC or GA-FC EX to be connected.

Question: Can the SDE-3000D be controlled via MIDI?

Answer: Yes. MIDI input and output are provided on space-saving mini TRS jacks, allowing integration into MIDI-controlled rigs.

Question: Can the sound of the repeats be shaped precisely?

Answer: Yes. Low-cut and high-cut filters process the feedback signal, while modulation and phase switches for the main delay and feedback loop are also available.

Boss AD-10

At the heart of the AD-10 is BOSS' groundbreaking Acoustic Resonance Processing. With this technology, the AD-10 enables the representation of the complex body and string resonances that are lost in many other pickup systems. The result is an expressive, organic vibe that is at the heart of acoustic playing. BOSS' proprietary Acoustic Resonance Processing analyzes the signal from the saddle-based piezo pickup and restores the missing body and string resonances, resulting in a full and expressive reproduction of the instrument's overall sound. One of the biggest problems with acoustic amplifiers has always been feedback. The AD-10 offers a feedback reduction function that gently suppresses the offending feedback frequency while preserving the overall sound. Two separate notch filters can be manually adjusted or set to auto-sampling to instantly suppress background feedback. The AD-10 has two input channels that allow you to set sounds for two different stage guitars, mix two pickup sources from one instrument, or even use two instruments simultaneously. Boost, delay, tuner/mute, and loop switches are prominently located on the front of the AD-10, giving you quick access to some of the most important features of this processor. On the back of the AD-10 are XLR stereo jacks that provide a DI connection to the stage, and 6.35mm stereo jacks that you can connect your stage amp or headphones to for monitoring. There's also an effects loop for external effects and a jack for connecting up to two footswitches or an expression pedal to control looper functions, volume, tap tempo, anti-feedback scan and more. Plus, the AD-10 acts as a 2-in, 2-out USB audio interface, so you can record tracks into a DAW and play computer music through the AD-10's audio outputs. An EQ section with four bands and a wide variable low-cut filter is available for each channel. Unlike standard EQs found in some other preamps, adjusting the AD-10's EQ bands activates multiple interlocking parameters under the hood, allowing for precise sound shaping with subtle tweaks. It is also possible to disable EQ if desired and adjust the phase of each channel independently. Features Boss AD-10 Professional preamp/DI for performing and recording with electric acoustic guitars Acoustic Resonance technology restores the warm, rich resonances lost with most pickup systems 4-band EQ with variable high-pass filter, tuned for optimal sound shaping of acoustic guitars Multiband compressor with MDP technology for transparent dynamic control Newly developed anti-feedback functions to suppress feedback without losing tonal balance Two channels with independent EQ for connecting two instruments or mixing multiple pickup sources Integrated ambience, delay and chorus effects with different sound characters and adjustable parameters Boost function with adjustable tone control Memory function for saving up to ten sound setups Integrated looper with 80 seconds recording time XLR and 6.3 mm phone jacks for connection to PA systems, stage monitors, amplifiers and external effects devices USB audio interface for recording and playback via a computer Fast and accurate built-in tuner Compact and portable design; powered by AC adapter or six AA batteries Technical Specifications Modes: Manual or Memory Memory locations: 10 Phrase loop: 80 seconds Effects: Acoustic Resonance (3 types) Compressor (2 types) 4 Band EQ, Low Cut Boost Chorus (3 types) Delay (3 types) Reverb (3 types) Anti-feedback (Recuction, 2x Notch) Loudspeaker: 4 inch | 7 W Display: LED | 7x2 lines Power supply: AC adapter (included) or 6x AA batteries Max. Boss SDE-3000EVH

If you're looking for the perfect balance of classic sound and modern technology, then the BOSS SDE-3000EVH Dual Digital Delay Pedal is just what you need. It's an authentic reissue of the stereo delays that formed the centerpiece of Eddie Van Halen's massive 3-cabinet guitar rig, combining all the features into a compact, floor-based stompbox. With two independent delay lines, the SDE-3000EVH emulates the behavior of two vintage SDE-3000 rack units, allowing you to create a Van Halen-worthy wet/dry/wet rig. It not only replicates the warm tone of its predecessor but also its retro display and panel controls. You can adjust the delay times up to 3000ms and enjoy modulation inspired by the original, including phase switches and high-pass and low-pass filters. The SDE-3000EVH replicates nearly all the parameters of its predecessor, which you can access through a retro display and panel controls. This pedal also offers 100 storable and recallable presets, including eight from EVH's live rig. One of the standout features of the original SDE-3000 was its modulation circuitry. The BOSS SDE-3000EVH pedal is equipped with a precise replica of that revered circuit, including depth and rate control. You also have the option to switch the phase of the initial delay and the delay feedback loop independently. The original SDE-3000 operated in mono, so Edward Van Halen had to use two separate units to integrate it into his guitar rig. The BOSS SDE-3000EVH pedal solves this problem by offering two separate delays in a compact enclosure. Each delay has independent parameters and can be operated either in series or parallel. The SDE-3000EVH also features send/return functionality, allowing you to insert external pedals or interact with the effects loop of an amplifier using the 4-cable method. It also includes two control jacks for connecting up to four footswitches, two expression pedals, or a GA-FC/GA-FC EX for external operation. In short, the BOSS SDE-3000EVH surpasses its predecessor in almost every way, offering unmatched sound and flexibility that will take any guitar rig to the next level. BOSS SDE-3000EVH Features An authentic reproduction of the Roland SDE-3000 rackmount digital delay in Eddie Van Halen's former live guitar rig Replicates the gain-dependent frequency response, anti-aliasing filter saturation, and component modulation of the original Emulates the distinctive coloring of the original unit's external feedback loop Reflects nearly all parameters of its predecessor Retro display and controls modeled after the original unit 2 discrete delay lines replicate the functionality of 2 vintage SDE-3000 units in a rack Generously adjustable delay time with 2 ranges: 0-1500ms and 0-3000ms Modulation inspired by the original unit with identical analog LFO behavior Phase switches for the primary delay and the delay feedback loop Low and high-cut filters for shaping delay feedback sounds Assignable onboard footswitch for tap tempo, hold, and more External footswitch jacks for up to 4 footswitches, 2 expression pedals, or a GA-FC/GA-FC EX foot controller MIDI I/O on space-saving mini-TRS jacks Ample analog I/O for a variety of mono and stereo setups Routing flexibility to build an EVH-worthy wet/dry/wet rig Send/return functionality for connecting pedals or the effects loop of an amplifier using the 4-cable method Selectable impedance on the effect return to optimize the sound with different amplifiers Includes 3 ground-lift cables for eliminating hum in multi-amplifier setups 100 recallable presets - 8 with EVH's exact live rig settings Eye-catching EVH aesthetics Technical Specifications Sampling Frequency: 48 kHz A/D Conversion: 24 bits + AF method D/A Conversion: 32 bits Processing: 32-bit floating point Memory: 100 + 8 EVH presets Display: 7-segment, 12-character LED display Power Supply: AC adapter Current Draw: 450 mA Weight: 1.1 kg Dimensions (W x D x H): 199 x 135 x 54 mm Included in the Box Boss SDE-3000EVH Edition Power adapter (PSB-1U + power cable set) 3x Ground lift cables 4x Rubber feet Quick Start Guide Warranty & Safety Information

For enthusiasts of the warm, saturated sound of analog delay seeking precise digital control, the DM-101 Delay Machine offers the perfect blend. With its flexibility, it can easily hold its own against any modern digital offering.
