Product description Boss SL-2 Slicer

Important questions about the article Boss SL-2 Slicer

Question: What does the BOSS SL-2 Slicer do?

Answer: It chops an audio signal into rhythmic, percussive patterns and processes them with additional internal effects depending on the type. This creates moving groove and stutter effects rather than a classic tremolo sound.

Question: How many patterns are available without additional software?

Answer: The pedal stores 88 patterns: eight types with eleven variations each. The types range from Single and Dual to Tremolo, Harmonic, and SFX.

Question: Do I need a computer or the BOSS Tone Studio app for operation?

Answer: No. Patterns and tempo can be set directly on the pedal; BOSS Tone Studio for macOS and Windows connects via USB for additional patterns and organising memory locations.

Question: Can I use the SL-2 in a mono or stereo setup?

Answer: Yes, its inputs and outputs support mono and stereo. In stereo operation, seven output modes are available, including Ping-Pong, EFX/Direct, and 3D variants.

Question: Can the SL-2 be synchronised with a drum machine or DAW?

Answer: Yes, it can receive MIDI Clock via its TRS MIDI input and follow an external tempo. Bypass, tempo, and expression functions can also be controlled via MIDI CC.

Question: Can I connect external footswitches or an expression pedal?

Answer: Yes. Up to two footswitches can be connected for functions such as tap tempo or momentary activation; alternatively, an expression pedal can control parameters or level.

Question: Is a power supply included?

Answer: No. A 9 V battery is included, while a suitable power supply must be used separately if required.

Question: What distinguishes the SL-2 from the older BOSS SL-20?

Answer: The SL-2 continues the SL-20 Slicer concept in a much more compact pedal format and expands it with more pattern and control options. It is therefore better suited to space-saving pedalboards.

Boss DM-101

The BOSS DM-101 Delay Machine is your remedy for intense cravings for analog delay. This digitally controlled, BBD-powered guitar effects pedal offers you 12 inspiring modes, ranging from gritty, vintage-like slaps to crystal-clear, modern-sounding repeats. The DM-101's modulation section includes controls for rate and depth, as well as a variation knob for added versatility. Additionally, you get stereo operation with flexible routing options, selectable carryover to prevent cut-off delay trails, and tap tempo with note subdivisions. The DM-101 Delay Machine is the ultimate solution when it comes to combining vintage sound and modern flexibility. While the pedal utilizes modern CPU control, its sound remains 100% analog - every audio signal passing through the DM-101 remains untouched by digital processing. Inside this stompbox, you'll find eight 2,048-stage bucket brigade devices that deliver a warm, saturated, and highly musical tone. However, thanks to the digital control, you retain a level of control not achievable with typical BBD analog delays. The Delay Machine features 12 modes that cover the full range of analog delay effects, from gritty vintage echoes to modern analog delays with extended high-frequency clarity. These modes are not the result of digital modeling; they are thoroughly analog. The DM-101 achieves this versatility through various circuit elements, such as the number of active BBD chips, the order of the BBD chips, low-pass filter settings, and clock frequencies. For enthusiasts of the warm, saturated sound of analog delay seeking precise digital control, the DM-101 Delay Machine offers the perfect blend. With its flexibility, it can easily hold its own against any modern digital offering. Whether you prefer traditional warm analog tones or find inspiration in crystal-clear sounds with pronounced high-end, the DM-101 has exactly what you need. Get ready for a warm, analog delay sound character and discover the versatility of the Boss DM-101 Delay Machine. Boss AD-10

At the heart of the AD-10 is BOSS' groundbreaking Acoustic Resonance Processing. With this technology, the AD-10 enables the representation of the complex body and string resonances that are lost in many other pickup systems. The result is an expressive, organic vibe that is at the heart of acoustic playing. BOSS' proprietary Acoustic Resonance Processing analyzes the signal from the saddle-based piezo pickup and restores the missing body and string resonances, resulting in a full and expressive reproduction of the instrument's overall sound. One of the biggest problems with acoustic amplifiers has always been feedback. The AD-10 offers a feedback reduction function that gently suppresses the offending feedback frequency while preserving the overall sound. Two separate notch filters can be manually adjusted or set to auto-sampling to instantly suppress background feedback. The AD-10 has two input channels that allow you to set sounds for two different stage guitars, mix two pickup sources from one instrument, or even use two instruments simultaneously. Boost, delay, tuner/mute, and loop switches are prominently located on the front of the AD-10, giving you quick access to some of the most important features of this processor. On the back of the AD-10 are XLR stereo jacks that provide a DI connection to the stage, and 6.35mm stereo jacks that you can connect your stage amp or headphones to for monitoring. There's also an effects loop for external effects and a jack for connecting up to two footswitches or an expression pedal to control looper functions, volume, tap tempo, anti-feedback scan and more. Plus, the AD-10 acts as a 2-in, 2-out USB audio interface, so you can record tracks into a DAW and play computer music through the AD-10's audio outputs. An EQ section with four bands and a wide variable low-cut filter is available for each channel. Unlike standard EQs found in some other preamps, adjusting the AD-10's EQ bands activates multiple interlocking parameters under the hood, allowing for precise sound shaping with subtle tweaks. It is also possible to disable EQ if desired and adjust the phase of each channel independently. Features Boss AD-10 Professional preamp/DI for performing and recording with electric acoustic guitars Acoustic Resonance technology restores the warm, rich resonances lost with most pickup systems 4-band EQ with variable high-pass filter, tuned for optimal sound shaping of acoustic guitars Multiband compressor with MDP technology for transparent dynamic control Newly developed anti-feedback functions to suppress feedback without losing tonal balance Two channels with independent EQ for connecting two instruments or mixing multiple pickup sources Integrated ambience, delay and chorus effects with different sound characters and adjustable parameters Boost function with adjustable tone control Memory function for saving up to ten sound setups Integrated looper with 80 seconds recording time XLR and 6.3 mm phone jacks for connection to PA systems, stage monitors, amplifiers and external effects devices USB audio interface for recording and playback via a computer Fast and accurate built-in tuner Compact and portable design; powered by AC adapter or six AA batteries Technical Specifications Modes: Manual or Memory Memory locations: 10 Phrase loop: 80 seconds Effects: Acoustic Resonance (3 types) Compressor (2 types) 4 Band EQ, Low Cut Boost Chorus (3 types) Delay (3 types) Reverb (3 types) Anti-feedback (Recuction, 2x Notch) Loudspeaker: 4 inch | 7 W Display: LED | 7x2 lines Power supply: AC adapter (included) or 6x AA batteries Max.
