Native Instruments Maschine MK3 - New Controller for Producers
Now it's official: Native Instruments is targeting beat producers and sound enthusiasts with a new machine for the third time.
The hardware of the MK3 has been completely overhauled by Native Instruments. The company equipped the controller with new larger and more sensitive trigger pads, two high-resolution OLED displays, and a touch-sensitive Touch Strip named Smart Strip. The Push Encoder has also been redesigned and assigned new functions.
The entire user interface looks very clear and tidy. All buttons seem to be slightly higher than we are used to from previous versions. The software will also receive a larger update. More precise details are not yet known. But Native Instruments is ready to launch.
An important new feature of the new MK3 Native Instruments machine is a 24-bit/96 kHz audio interface with stereo and microphone input as well as line and headphone output. This significantly expands the range of applications and makes the machine somewhat more of a "production and performance system". Power continues to be supplied via USB, alternatively via the included power adapter.
Also new is the so-called "Smart Strip", which is supposed to offer a completely new playing feel: Chords like playing the guitar or controlling the Perform FX of the machine should be possible with this.
