Product description Boss VE-20
Control vocal effects directly at the microphone and switch them on at specific points in a song: the BOSS VE-20 is a vocal effects processor for stage and studio use. It combines voice processing with two foot pedals and an integrated phrase looper, so you can operate effects during a performance and layer vocal phrases live.
Available processing options include compressor, pitch correction, reverb, delay and vocal doubling. The Harmonist adds two further voices to yours; effects such as distortion, Robot, Radio and Strobe are suitable for heavily altered sounds. Up to six effect blocks can be used simultaneously and switched on as needed when moving between sections of a song.
The phrase looper records vocals in mono for up to 38 seconds and supports overdubs. This lets you layer several vocal parts during a performance. In Sound Check mode, you can play back a saved phrase while adjusting effects or checking the vocals through the PA. The looper keeps your vocal phrase ready for repeated playback.
The backlit LCD displays settings and memory locations; sounds are selected using an endless rotary encoder. There are 30 presets and 50 user memory locations in total. Depending on the settings, the two foot pedals can switch effects, control the looper or change patches. You can assign different functions to the pedals for your performance.
You can connect a microphone via the combined XLR/jack input; switchable phantom power is available for compatible condenser microphones. The XLR outputs send the signal left and right, while the stereo jack socket serves as a headphone or line output. The microphone input supports XLR with 48 V phantom power.
To operate the VE-20, you need six AA batteries or an optional PSA-series power supply. This makes it suitable for singers, beatboxers and speakers who want to control vocal effects, save sounds and record loops directly on the unit. Battery operation allows you to use it without a mains connection.

A Vocal Performer should remain protected during transport, while the microphone and cables can travel with it. The BOSS CB-VE22 is designed for the VE-22 and VE-20 models and combines a softly padded interior compartment with a durable polyester cover. Alongside the Vocal Performer, the main compartment can hold a long microphone cable and other accessories. A moveable L-shaped divider and an additional partition help you organise the interior to suit your needs and store a microphone upright. There is an internal mesh pocket for small items such as earphones or batteries. The large outer pocket with compartments holds accessories; the front zip pocket is suitable for a smartphone or flat items. An adjustable, detachable shoulder strap makes it easier to carry the bag to gigs and studio sessions. The robust zip with BOSS logo closes the bag. It is a good fit for your VE-22 or VE-20 setup if you want to transport your Vocal Performer, microphone and accessories together.
