Product information "Analogue Solutions Leipzig V3"

Leipzig V3 is a 100% analog synthesizer based on circuits from the 70s and 80s - these give the Leipzig its uniquely rich and characterful vintage sound. Version 3 has been completely redesigned to improve reliability, quality and other manufacturing aspects. The currently popular desktop design was chosen as the format. The wonderfully wicked sound character of the popular previous versions has of course been 100% retained.

Apart from MIDI functionality and sequencer control, Analogue Solutions mastermind Tom Carpenter again deliberately avoids digital components and the use of a CPU, thus avoiding sterility - no quantization, no stepping. Controller movements have an immediate effect on the voltage of the corresponding circuit without detours.

2 gritty VCOs including portamento, cross modulation and sync pass through a classic, versatile modulatable 24dB "Moog style" low pass cascade filter and can be thickened up nicely via a suboscillator if necessary.

Leipzig V3 has a huge sound, especially when used for bass, its mixer/filter can be heavily overdriven if needed, so it can mutate into a mean little dirt slinger if desired. Without overdriving, of course, softer synth sounds and everything else in between are possible. Although a master of the ultimate fat bass, Leipzig V3 is also exceptionally well suited to producing tight, electronic percussion.

The analog 8-step sequencer on board is not only designed for creating simple melodies or percussive loops, but also serves as a modulation source with which sounds can be drastically altered on each step. The sequencer can control the pitch of one of the two VCOs in addition to filter cutoff. An additional digital sequencer holds 16 notes and can be transposed in real time via keyboard or DAW. Synchronization is done simply by sending the MIDI note 000 which allows arbitrary clocking and splitting.
