Compact USB audio interface for anyone who wants to bring recordings cleanly, quickly, and without detours into your computer: With the Universal Audio VOLT 476, you set up a reliable 4-channel setup for vocals and instruments – on Mac, PC, iPad, or iPhone. Four inputs and four outputs give you enough flexibility for small band setups, stereo sources, or multiple signals at the same time. Thanks to 24-bit/192 kHz, you get conversion that makes details audible without having to fight your way through complicated menus. With this interface, Universal Audio combines modern converter technology with two sound options that you can activate directly on the device. For every recording, you decide whether you want a deliberately neutral, transparent sound or prefer to capture character and dynamic control while tracking. The device also works great as a monitor controller: inputs and outputs can be monitored effectively while you work with direct monitoring without noticeable latency. Character at the push of a button instead of a plugin marathon With the integrated Vintage Mode, you get a 610 Tube Mic Preamp emulation directly in your signal path. Especially for vocals, electric guitar, or bass, this delivers more fullness and a pleasantly tangible tone without you having to search for the right plugin during recording. You can deactivate the mode at any time and get the clear, uncolored basic sound of the interface. What’s practical is that you don’t have to “commit” to the sound: depending on the project, you can switch between neutral and colored and focus on performance and arrangement while recording. This is especially helpful when you want to capture ideas quickly or try out different tones before moving on to mixing. Keep dynamics under control before they become a problem You can also activate a 76 Analog Compressor, inspired by a classic 1176 limiter. This lets you tame level peaks directly at the source and give vocals or instruments more presence. Instead of countless parameters, you use suitable presets that address typical applications such as vocals, guitars, synths, or drum machines.Especially for streaming, podcasts, or quick vocal takes, this is a real advantage: the signal stays controlled without you having to build a long effect chain in your DAW first. And if you prefer to record completely “clean,” simply leave the compression off – the choice is yours. Monitoring that keeps up with you When recording, a stable and direct feel is essential. Direct monitoring ensures latency-free recording, while you can monitor loudly and cleanly via the headphone output. The headphone amplifier is designed for clear monitoring so you can accurately judge what’s really happening, even with dynamic signals.48 V phantom power is available for condenser microphones. This makes your setup flexible: from speech microphones to vocals and acoustic instruments. And because the housing is built robustly, the interface remains reliable even when it often ends up in your backpack. More than hardware: creative start with software bundle So you don’t have to start from scratch, an extensive package of DAW, UAD plug-ins, and third-party tools is included. The combination of LUNA and effects such as EQs, channel strips, reverb, tape emulations, and instruments gives you a ready-to-work setup for recording and mixing right away. You also get well-known names like Ableton Live Lite and Melodyne Essential, plus amp and bass tools for guitar and bass tracks.Mobile use is also supported: with iPad/iPhone (iOS/iPadOS 14 or higher), you can record on the go – you’ll need an external power supply and an Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter (except iPad Pros with USB-C). This keeps your workflow consistent, whether on desktop or on the move. MIDI integrated directly Via the 1x1 MIDI I/O, you connect controllers, synthesizers, or drum machines without additional adapters. This way, you control virtual instruments in your DAW or synchronize external equipment cleanly with your setup. Simply connect and get started The interface comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable and can be quickly integrated into existing setups. For iPad and iPhone, mobile operation is possible if you use an external power supply and – depending on the device – the appropriate camera adapter.
