Teenage Engineering EP-136 K.O. Sidekick

Compact in design, versatile in connectivity, and built directly for performance: this two-channel mixer combines classic mixing with an integrated USB audio interface and a tactile effects section. You get two stereo channel strips, an additional aux input, cue monitoring, beat matching per channel, and 24-bit audio processing in a format that takes up little space and fits flexibly into your setup. Two channels with direct access The two stereo channel strips are clearly designed for fast operation. Dedicated controls for gain, EQ, compression, saturation, cue, and level are available, so you don't have to navigate through menus. This is particularly practical when you want to control several sound generators, samplers, or playback devices simultaneously and need clear channel management. Use the additional stereo aux input to integrate a third signal source or return an external effects signal. The cue output helps you with pre-listening, while the main output sends your finished signal to speakers, recorders, mixers, or sound cards. Three EQ paths for your sound Instead of being limited to a fixed tone control, the mixer offers three EQ styles. The DJ mode is suitable for quick transitions and significant adjustments, the studio approach works in a more controlled manner, and the parametric mode gives you more precision when shaping individual frequency ranges. This allows you to choose the sound processing to suit the situation. Additionally, there is a dedicated compressor in each input channel. This allows you to catch level peaks and place signals more compactly in the mix without needing to connect additional equipment. Effects with real movement The six Knock-Out Performance FX™ are intended not just as an addition, but as playable tools. Filter, delay, tape, loop, tremolo, and siren can be integrated directly into your transitions, breaks, or live remixes. You can control the effect intensity very immediately via the pressure-sensitive force pad and the high-resolution mod stick. FX can be used rhythmically Tap-FX Sequencer™ for repeatable movements Motion Control™ FX Sequencing for dynamic progressions Dual channel beat-match for tempo-synced processing Interface instead of additional device Via USB-C, the compact mixer also functions as a USB audio interface with 8 inputs and 4 outputs. This allows you to record individual signals in your DAW, output the main mix, or integrate digital playback devices into your setup. The processing at 48 kHz and 24 bit ensures a clean foundation for recording and performing. The USB connection also adds MIDI controller functions to the device. This makes it interesting if you use hardware and software together and are looking for a small mixer that not only routes analog signals but also works with your computer or mobile device. Small, mobile, and expandable At 240 x 88 x 16 mm, the casing remains flat and travel-friendly. Operation via two AAA batteries is practical for mobile setups, sessions outside the studio, or quick cabling without a power supply. Alternatively, you can power the device via USB-C if you operate it permanently at your computer or in the studio. Thanks to the EP series format, multiple units can be combined with one another. This allows you to expand your channel options without completely rebuilding your existing setup. The light weight of 0.3 kg makes the small mixer easy to handle, even if your desk, case, or backpack is already full. Why the EP-136 fits your setup well This device is right for you if you work with compact samplers, synthesizers, grooveboxes, playback devices, or a DAW setup and want more than just volume control. It is suitable for beginners who are looking for a clear interface, as well as experienced users who need a small performance mixer with interface functions, effects, and a cue path.
