Product description Stanton RM-80

A rack mixer for several playback sources needs sufficient inputs and clear options for cueing and crossfading. The Stanton RM-80 is a four-channel 19-inch stereo mixer with connections for line, phono and microphone signals. Unlike the RM-100, it has no effects loop.

Channel controls include gain and a 3-band EQ with +9/-26 dB per channel. The microphone channel has a 2-band EQ and an on/off switch. When Auto-Talk is enabled, the mixer lowers the music level while you speak; the talkover attenuation can be adjusted between 0 and 26 dB.

The assignable crossfader lets you assign channels to the left or right side, or bypass it. Fader Start can start compatible playback sources via the crossfader; a corresponding Fader Start connection is provided for this purpose. Beat indicators give you a visual guide to the rhythm of the programme currently playing.

For monitoring, you can select channels using the Cue switch and mix them with the master signal via Cue Pan. The headphone mode can be switched between stereo and split. For connection to the sound system, there is a balanced XLR master output and a separate booth monitor output. Master level and balance are adjustable; you can also switch the master between mono and stereo.

The inputs comprise nine line, four phono and three microphone inputs. Connect line sources such as CD players to the line inputs and turntables to phono. A 12 V BNC connection accommodates a gooseneck lamp. Four rack-format channels make the RM-80 a suitable choice for DJ setups with several playback sources, turntables and microphones, where cueing, Fader Start and separate booth monitoring are required.
