Product description JB-Systems MIX 5.2
With five channels, eleven inputs, and flexible zone control, this rack mixer offers a thoughtful solution for applications where multiple sound zones should be controlled independently. Two separate output areas can be adjusted individually, each with balanced XLR outputs as well as alternative RCA connectors. This facilitates integration into various installations, whether in bars, conference rooms, or smaller venues.
Each of the two zones can be set separately – 3-band tone control, balance, volume, and a mono/stereo switch per zone provide maximum control. The input channels can be routed individually to Zone A, Zone B, or both simultaneously. For each channel, a signal and peak LED shows whether your level is correct. The gain controls and 45-mm faders allow precise adjustment – clear and directly accessible.
The microphone input with its own 3-band tone control, zone selection, and adjustable talkover is ideal for announcements or presentations. The talkover function does not affect the record outputs, which work independently – a clear advantage for clean recordings. Overall, there are five microphone inputs, four line sources, and two phono connections available – enough room for various setups.
For monitoring, a separate PFL section is available, including a selector switch, volume control, and 6.3 mm headphone jack. This facilitates working in live situations and helps you quickly react to different signal sources. Thanks to the compact 3U rack mounting, the device is especially installation-friendly – including a robust design.

Important questions about the article JB-Systems MIX 5.2
Question: What applications is the JB-Systems MIX 5.2 suitable for?
Answer: This rack mixer is designed for fixed sound installations with two independently controllable areas, such as bars, hospitality venues, conference rooms or small event locations. It is not a DJ controller and has no computer or USB connection.
Question: Can two zones be supplied independently?
Answer: Yes. Zone A and Zone B each have their own volume, balance, 3-band equaliser and mono/stereo switch, and are available via XLR or RCA.
Question: Can a signal source be sent to both zones at the same time?
Answer: Yes. Each channel can be routed individually to Zone A, Zone B or both zones. This allows a source to be played in both areas in parallel when required.
Question: Can I connect turntables directly?
Answer: Yes. The MIX 5.2 has two phono inputs with RCA connections; line inputs are also available for additional source devices.
Question: Are announcements recorded during a recording?
Answer: The two record outputs operate independently of microphone 1 and the talkover function. This keeps announcements or automatic level reduction separate from the recording signal.
Question: How does cue monitoring work?
Answer: A separate PFL section with a selector and volume control, plus a 6.3 mm headphone output, is provided for monitoring. This lets you check a signal before sending it to the zones.
Question: Does the mixer fit in a standard rack?
Answer: Yes. The housing is designed for 19-inch rack mounting and occupies 3U; its dimensions are 483 × 134 × 130 mm.
