Product description Rane Serato MP2014
When vinyl, CD players and digital decks come together in one setup, separate source selection for each channel makes it easy to switch quickly. The Rane Serato MP2014 is a two-channel rotary DJ mixer with two independent USB audio interfaces, analogue inputs and smooth-running rotary controls.
For each channel, you can choose between USB A, USB B, Phono/CD and AUX. The two USB 2.0 ports can each connect a computer; each computer provides three stereo playback channels and seven stereo recording channels. To play audio via USB, the audio slots must be assigned in the DJ or DAW software settings. A Session input source can also be connected via RCA, S/PDIF or USB AUX.
The two Phono/CD inputs accept turntables or line-level signals from CD players; switch between Phono and CD using the switch on the rear panel. Each channel also has its own stereo AUX input. Use the 3-band EQ and switchable filter to shape the sound for each channel. You can choose between low-pass, high-/low-pass or high-pass filter characteristics; a central resonance control complements the filter controls.
A 3-band isolator with adjustable crossover frequencies is available for the overall mix. Connect external effects via the analogue FlexFX send/return path. The microphone input combines XLR and 6.3 mm jack connections; a wireless microphone receiver can also be connected using the Mic/Line switch. When the microphone is activated, the Duck function temporarily lowers the mix by 10 dB.
The Main output uses XLR, while the Booth output uses a jack connection. A Session output is available in analogue format via RCA and in digital format via S/PDIF, for example for recording or connecting another mixer. You can connect headphones to the two 6.3 mm sockets or the 3.5 mm socket on the front; CUE buttons and Cue/Main mono split or stereo cueing control monitoring.
With rotary-controlled channels, dual USB connectivity and connections for vinyl, CD, a microphone and external effects, the MP2014 is suited to DJ setups with analogue and digital source selection.
