Ortofon Concorde S-120

The Ortofon Concorde S-120 is an innovative, powerful Turntable Cartridge that is already considered as the world's first cartridge to employ a technology known as Asymmetric Suspension (patent pending). Thanks to this technology, DJs are able to use an exceedingly wide range of tracking force (between 1.5 to 10 grams) without any difference in sound reproduction.

To provide extreme groove handling ability for even the most demanding and vigorous scratch performance, the tracking force can also be increased all the way up to as much as 10 grams. DJs can also use this cartridge at extremely low tracking forces to virtually eliminate record wear when playing vinyl rarities.

In Addition, the Ortofon Concorde S-120 cartridge works perfectly with both Serato SL1 and SL3 interfaces, providing greatly reducing setup and calibration requirements and a strong 10.0 mV output. The Asymmetric Suspension of Ortofon allows a high-performance sound reproduction formerly only reserved for far more delicate HiFi cartridges. The diamond of this cartridge traces the groove more effectively than any other DJ cartridge thanks to the asymmetric Sunspension.

Previous to the creation of the asymmetric suspension of Ortofon cartridges, the sound quality and ability to "stick to the groove" greatly depended on the tracking force being used; too little tracking force often created severe groove damage as it often led to the stylus jumping out of the groove during a loud passage or distorted bass response. Contrariwise, too much tracking force would make backcueing problematic as the movement of the stylus was limited and this would lead to poor treble response or damage the suspension irreparably.

The Ortofon Concorde S-120 puts an end to these concerns and offers absolute flexibility in all settings. This cartridge mounts directly onto DJ's tone arms without the need for a headshell and includes a replacement stylus.
