Product description Mixars Duo

When scratching and switching decks quickly, faders, cue points and effects need to be within easy reach. The two-channel battle mixer with Serato control Mixars Duo combines an integrated USB audio interface with controls for Serato DJ and a Mini Innofader crossfader.

The RGB pads trigger four cue points per deck or the SP-6 sampler; you can switch to additional cue points using the pad bank. With Instant Doubles, you can transfer a playing track directly to the other deck. The Autoloop and Loop Roll controls, as well as the FX controls for effect intensity, on/off and beat resolution, are also located on the mixer.

For external sources, each channel has a switchable phono/line input and an additional line input. At the microphone/aux input, you can choose between an XLR/TRS combo connection for a microphone and an aux input for line-level sources; level and tone can be adjusted separately. Each channel also has an analogue filter and a three-band EQ.

Balanced XLR and booth outputs complement the unbalanced master output and the RCA rec output. For headphone monitoring, there are 3.5 mm and 6.3 mm sockets, as well as a split-cue function that sends the master and cue signals to the two headphone channels. An integrated USB hub provides two additional USB ports for accessories.

The audio interface operates at 24-bit and 48 kHz. The mixer is designed for Serato DJ and is class-compliant on Mac OS X; a driver is required before use on Windows. Faders and controls support MIDI, so you can also use them for custom mappings in other audio software.

With its phono, line and microphone/aux connections, two USB hub ports, and separately controlled master and booth outputs, the Mixars Duo is suited to a Serato-based battle setup with turntables or line-level sources. The adjustable fader curve and cut-in are important criteria for scratching techniques and customised fader settings.
