Product description Gemini PS-121x
A compact setup with turntables and line-level sources requires independently switchable inputs and a clear cueing option. The Gemini PS-121x is a 2-channel stereo mixer in a 6.5-inch format that accepts both signal types and outputs them via a master output.
On the rear panel, there are two phono and two line inputs with RCA connections. Each channel can be set to phono or line to match the source; the phono inputs are designed for turntables with moving-magnet cartridges. An earth screw accepts the ground wires from the turntables and helps prevent hum caused by a lack of grounding.
Each of the two channels has a two-band rotary EQ with a cut function as well as a gain control. To cue, connect headphones to the 6.3 mm jack socket. Use the cue control to select the channels to monitor; the cue volume can be adjusted separately.
For announcements or vocals, there is a rear-panel microphone input in 6.3 mm jack format with its own volume control. The master output sends the mixed signal via RCA to an amplifier or sound system. A removable control panel for the replaceable crossfader makes it easier to replace; the screw-free base plate keeps the lower area clear while mixing.
The package also includes a cable described as iPod-compatible. The compact format and RCA connections are suitable for a small DJ setup with turntables or line-level sources, headphone cueing and a microphone. The appropriate phono or line setting is essential for the connected sources.
