Product description Ecler XPA-3000

When a power amplifier needs to operate reliably even with low speaker impedances, power ratings and protection circuits are equally important. The Ecler XPA-3000 is a rack-mountable MOSFET power amplifier with 295 W RMS per channel at 4 ohms; in stereo mode, it is designed for loads down to 2 ohms.

Use the switches on the rear panel to select stereo, parallel or bridge mode. The input sensitivity can be set to 0.775 V, 1 V or 1.4 V. Balanced XLR and 6.35 mm jack inputs accept the audio signal; Speakon sockets and binding posts are provided for speakers. A 4-ohm load is intended for bridge mode.

An always-active clip limiter limits clipping. The switchable subsonic filter operates at 30 Hz with a slope of 18 dB per octave. Protection circuits respond to short circuits, overheating and DC voltage, among other things; the indicators on the front panel show signal, clip and protection status. The separate status indicators help you check the operating status directly on the device.

The cooling system draws in fresh air at the rear and expels warm air at the front; airflow increases with the internal temperature. The level controls are on the front and can be secured against accidental adjustment using Ecler's locking system. The 2U housing with an aluminium front panel fits in a 19-inch rack. This makes the power amplifier suitable for sound reinforcement systems that require switchable operating modes, flexible input levels and support for low impedances.
