Product description Behringer B-Control Deejay BCD3000

With a digital DJ setup, deck control, mixing and monitoring often involve separate devices. The Behringer B-CONTROL DEEJAY BCD3000 combines these tasks in a DJ controller with a 4-channel USB audio interface: you control two software decks using jog wheels and mixer controls, and can also connect analogue sources.

The two jog wheels are used for scratching, search control and pitch-bending. Play, Cue, Loop, Pitch and Search buttons are located directly on the device. For mixing, each channel has a pitch and level fader as well as a 3-band kill EQ; a crossfader controls the transition between the decks. Effects can be controlled using dedicated controls.

The integrated interface transmits four audio channels via USB. In the monitor section, you can preview Deck A or B through the headphone output and adjust the balance between the cue and master signals. The RCA master output sends the main signal to an amplifier or PA system.

Two phono preamps are provided for analogue sources. Input A can be used for phono or microphone; Input B accepts phono or a line signal, for example from a CD player. The external input buttons route the respective signal to the appropriate software deck. The microphone input is balanced and has dedicated level and 2-band EQ controls.

Native Instruments Traktor 3 LE is included. The stated software environment includes Windows XP and Mac OS X; the device was also designed to control other DJ applications. You can use playback, mixing and scratch control with the file formats listed in the product description: MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG, WAV and AIFF. iTunes import and Beatport integration are listed as features of the included software; recording and podcasting software is also mentioned.

With its analogue inputs, USB connection and direct controls, the controller is suitable for a compact DJ setup with software decks that is also intended to include turntables, line sources or a microphone. The available software environment, the connections you need and your intended use of analogue sources are particularly important selection criteria.
