Product description American DJ Vizi Roller Beam 2R

A rotating mirror drum directs the beam of light all around the room, creating moving beam effects with a clearly defined outline. The American DJ Vizi Roller Beam 2R is a DMX-controlled barrel scanner with 360° beam coverage and a narrow 4° beam angle. This creates circling, pulsating light patterns on dance floors and stages.

The light source is a Philips Platinum MSD 2R discharge lamp. The colour and gobo wheels operate independently; the available selection includes 13 colours plus white, including UV, CTO and CTB, as well as eight gobos and six spot patterns. A 5-facet prism, gobo shake and 16 gobo/prism macros expand the range of effects.

Control is possible via DMX, Master/Slave or Sound Active. Seven internal programmes are available for standalone operation; in DMX mode, you can choose between 11, 13 and 18 channels. RDMX enables remote addressing via a DMX controller. The colour display and menu buttons are used to adjust the unit, while automatic XY repositioning corrects the alignment after movement.

The scanner moves through 315° pan and 90° tilt; the mirror drum can rotate continuously through 360°. 16-bit fine control for pan and tilt supplements the 8-bit movement. Dimmer and shutter effects range from 0 to 100 per cent brightness and include a pulse effect as well as slow to fast strobing. Stepper motors with microstepping control the movements.

The unit is fan-cooled and, according to the specifications, is designed for continuous operation without a specified duty cycle. Its lightweight, compact housing is intended for lighting setups where an all-round moving beam, DMX control and several internal operating modes are required. The 3-pin DMX connections connect the scanner to the controller or other DMX devices.
