American DJ UV LED BAR16

For UV wash effects on stages and in theatre or special-effects installations, the American DJ UVLED BAR16 combines 16 UV LEDs, each rated at 1 W in a compact light bar. Its oval beam angle of 10° vertically and 40° horizontally is suitable for wide-area illumination, such as lighting a wall.

You can operate the bar independently, in a master/slave setup or via DMX-512. In Sound Active mode, the built-in microphone responds to music; according to the operating instructions, quiet or very high-pitched sounds may not trigger a response. Three channels are available for DMX control, allowing you to control the dimmer, programme speed and programmes.

The UV output can be electronically dimmed from 0 to 100%. A UV strobe effect and other internal programmes are also available. The LED bar operates without flicker and has no moving parts; the LEDs have a stated lifespan of 50,000 hours.

A three-button LED display on the rear is used for settings and DMX addressing. The dual bracket allows you to mount the bar overhead or use it on the floor. You can connect the bar to a DMX chain via 3-pin XLR connections; the power supply and on/off switch are also located on the rear.

When positioning the unit, bear in mind that it emits intense UV radiation: use suitable eye and skin protection and avoid prolonged direct exposure. The bar is intended for indoor use and must not be connected to a dimmer.

With a power consumption of 30 W and automatic adjustment to the stated mains voltage, the UVLED BAR16 is suitable for mobile lighting setups as well as permanently installed stage and theatre environments. The key considerations are the desired UV wash coverage, the required control modes and secure mounting with adequate protection from UV radiation.
