Product description American DJ LED Messenger

When lighting messages are to appear directly on the dance floor or on a wall, a text effect combines projection with colourful movement. The American DJ LED Messenger projects letters and patterns and also works as an LED moonflower with 192 red, green and blue LEDs. You enter text using a PS/2 keyboard; the supplied infrared remote control operates the device modes.

A total of 15 text memory slots are available, each holding up to 30 characters. Ten slots contain pre-programmed, editable phrases, while five can be freely programmed. There are also 16 pre-programmed patterns. The running speed of texts and programmes, as well as the flash rate, can be adjusted.

For operation without a lighting desk, you can choose between programme or text selection, automatic mode and sound-active control. The built-in microphone responds to music in Sound-to-Light mode. Via DMX, the 3-channel mode controls programmes and sound activity, speed or microphone sensitivity, and the strobe rate. Several devices can also be operated synchronously in a master-slave setup.

The LED system consists of 192 LEDs with RGB colour mixing: 72 red, 48 green and 72 blue LEDs. Its light output is compared with that of a 400-watt halogen flower. Special lens technology focuses the light to create a wide projection pattern. The stated LED lifespan is approximately 100,000 hours.

A digital display and control buttons make it easy to adjust settings directly on the device. A hanging bracket is provided for installation; the IEC power output can be used to power additional effects. The supply voltage is fixed at the factory and cannot be switched. Therefore, check before connecting the device that the version is suitable for your mains voltage. Due to its magnifying lens, the device must not be exposed to direct sunlight, as heat may build up inside and damage it.

The LED Messenger is suitable for mobile DJs and event setups looking to combine programmable text projections with a moonflower effect. Keyboard input, remote control and DMX control provide different ways of operating it, from standalone use to synchronised operation of several devices.
