If LED PARs are to display different colours or sequences on separate DMX addresses, you need a suitable channel assignment. The American DJ LED RGBW4C is a 32-channel DMX controller for RGB, RGBW and RGBA fixtures that controls up to eight lights or groups of fixtures. For independent control, the fixtures must be set to four-channel DMX mode: red, green, blue and white or yellow.

Four fixture buttons select the lights in groups and can be used to access up to eight fixtures. Use the nine buttons for static colours and chases to call up pre-programmed colours and chase programmes directly. Three additional buttons save your own presets; as well as colours, you can use them to save and recall a chase or programme.

The eight operating modes include RGB fade, Auto, colour macros, Chase, sound-activated playback, strobe, manual RGBW control and blackout. In manual mode, you adjust the RGBW intensities directly using four faders. Depending on the selected programme, they can also be used to adjust speed, fade time and the master dimmer. You can change the speed and fade time of the chase programmes during operation.

For sound-activated playback, an integrated microphone picks up the signal; you can adjust its sensitivity on the unit. The speed of the strobe effect can also be adjusted. Blackout switches off the light output until you deactivate the mode again.

With its three-pin XLR DMX output and included power supply, the controller is suitable for lighting setups with appropriately configured RGB, RGBW or RGBA fixtures. It is suitable for DJs and for controlling LED PARs, bars, floodlights and panels in bars, lounges and clubs when you want to operate colours, chases and basic effects directly on the unit.
