Product description American DJ Hyper GEM LED

For dynamic light patterns without moving mirrors, the American DJ Hyper Gem LED uses a matrix of coloured LEDs. The Moonflower effect projects beams and patterns onto walls, ceilings or dance floors; its wide beam angle is particularly suitable when a single unit needs to cover a larger area.

The 256 RGBW LEDs are divided evenly between red, green, blue and white. In Sound-Active mode, built-in programmes respond to the music. You can also use static colours or pre-programmed shows and synchronise multiple units in a Master/Slave setup. For manual lighting control, DMX-512 is available with a choice of 4 or 256 channels.

The 4-button display on the rear is used to set the DMX address and functions. Up to 16 units can be linked via 3-pin XLR connections. The light has IEC inputs and outputs for power; according to the user manual, up to eight units can be daisy-chained this way. A strobe effect adds to the lighting programmes.

The light has no moving parts and generates little heat. It is designed for continuous operation without a cooling break; the LEDs are rated for a lifespan of 100,000 hours. The unit can also be controlled with the optional American DJ UC3 remote control. The hanging bracket is included.

With its Sound, Master/Slave and DMX operating modes, this model is suited to DJ and event setups where coloured beam effects are to run automatically or via a lighting desk. It is designed for a supply voltage of 100 to 240 V; the beam angle is 24° vertically and 94° horizontally.
