For low-level installation or in tight trusses, it is important that connections do not take up space at the rear. The American DJ Flat Par CWWW18 is a low-profile LED PAR spotlight with side-mounted power and DMX connections, allowing it to be placed directly on the floor or installed in a truss.

18 LEDs rated at 3 watts each – nine cool white and nine warm white – can be mixed to set variable white tones from 3400 to 7400 K. The beam angle is 40 degrees. An electronic dimmer controls brightness from 0 to 100 per cent; colour macros and a strobe effect add to the lighting control options.

Six modes are available: DMX, colour dimmer, white presets, colour fade, sound-active and automatic. In Sound Active mode, the integrated microphone responds to music. Via DMX, you can choose between three channel modes with 3, 4 or 5 channels; for stand-alone operation, the unit can also be configured as master or slave.

Control is via the rear panel with four buttons and an LED display, or by infrared remote control. The compatible ADJ LED RC is available separately and, according to the product information, works at distances of up to 4.5 metres. Three-pin XLR sockets serve as DMX inputs and outputs; you can connect multiple units for power via the IEC power input and output.

The dual-bracket system allows the unit to be mounted hanging, on the side of a truss or on a flat surface. A safety eyelet is provided for installation; a U-shaped filter frame for optional diffusion filters is included. With a maximum power consumption of 60 watts and a stated LED lifespan of 50,000 hours, the spotlight is suitable for stages, fixed installations and mobile setups where white lighting effects and a low-profile design are required.
