AKG K480NC

When you are on the move, deep ambient noise often interferes with listening to music. The closed, foldable AKG K480NC combines active noise cancelling with a compact design for mobile use. Its 3D-Axis² mechanism allows it to be folded flat for transport.

The noise cancelling primarily reduces low-frequency ambient noise; it does not provide complete shielding. You need an AAA battery to operate the active electronics. You can continue to use the headphones passively without a battery, but the noise cancelling is then switched off. It may be unsuitable in quiet environments or for certain types of noise.

The single-sided cable connects the headphones to an audio source and the separate battery box. The scope of delivery includes cables in two lengths: 0.5 m and 1.1 m. The battery box features an on/off switch, a battery status indicator, and a clip that allows you to attach it to a bag, for example. According to the operating manual, a full alkaline AAA battery lasts for approximately 30 hours; the battery life depends on temperature and usage.

Soft ear pads and a padded headband support comfort. For mobile phone calls, the headphones can be used as a headset with an optionally available communication kit; the kit is not included in the scope of delivery. The stated compatibility refers to iPhone Classic and iPhone 3G.

Adapters for 2.5 mm and 6.3 mm jack sockets as well as an airplane adapter are included for connection to various playback devices. The included faux leather case holds the folded headphones for transport. This makes the model suitable for mobile setups where active noise reduction, a foldable design, and analogue jack connections are required.
