Product description Yamaha Audiogram 3

When a microphone and an instrument are to be recorded at the same time, the interface needs suitable inputs in a compact space. The Yamaha Audiogram 3 is a USB audio interface for computer recording with one microphone/Hi-Z combo input and one stereo input. It is suitable, for example, for recording vocals or guitar together with playback or another stereo signal.

On the first channel, you can use the MIC/INST button to switch between microphone and instrument sensitivity. This lets you connect an electric guitar or bass directly. You can also activate 48 V phantom power for channel 1 for a condenser microphone. You adjust the input levels using the LEVEL controls.

The stereo input accepts signals via two jack sockets or, alternatively, via two RCA sockets; both connection types are wired in parallel. This allows you to connect a keyboard, CD or MP3 player, for example. The combo and stereo inputs can be used at the same time, for instance for vocals with playback. For monitoring, there is a headphone output and two stereo outputs; the OUT-LEVEL control adjusts the output level.

The connection to the computer is via USB 1.1, which also supplies power to the device. A separate power supply is therefore not required. Audio transmission operates at 16 bit and 44.1 or 48 kHz. The package includes a USB cable and a Cubase AI DVD for recording and editing on a computer.

The interface is suitable for simple computer recording setups in which a microphone or instrument signal is to be combined with a stereo source. When choosing, bear in mind the limited number of inputs, USB power supply and support for older Windows and Mac operating systems; check compatibility with your computer before use.
