Stageline MPX-460

When several turntables and line-level sources need to be available on the same mixer, clearly assigned inputs are essential. The silver Stageline MPX-460 is a 4-channel DJ mixer with seven stereo input paths and a separate DJ microphone path. This lets you connect up to four line-level devices, three turntables with moving-magnet cartridges and one microphone.

Channels 2 to 4 can each be switched between Phono and Line; channel 1 accepts a line-level signal. Ground terminals are provided for turntables. You can connect the microphone via a balanced 6.3 mm jack socket on the front or rear. Both sockets are connected in parallel and are therefore intended for the same microphone connection.

Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA master outputs are available for connecting your system. The output level can be switched between 1 and 2 V for both master outputs. A separate RCA Booth output feeds a monitor system; you can use the Record output for recordings, and its level remains independent of the Master control. Master, Booth and Record are separate outputs for sound reinforcement, monitoring and recording.

Each input channel has a gain control and a three-band equaliser with a cut function. With PFL, you can monitor channels 1 to 4 via the adjustable headphone output before the respective channel fader. The stereo LED meter displays the master level. Monitoring before the channel fader helps you set up your sources and find the right moment to bring them in.

The replaceable VCA crossfader fades between channel 2 and either channel 3 or 4. Use Assign to select the right-hand side of the crossfader; Reverse reverses the channel assignment. The crossfader curve is continuously adjustable, from soft for smooth transitions to a steep characteristic for abrupt changes. The crossfader curve, assignment and direction can be adapted to your mixing technique.

For microphone announcements, Auto-Talkover can automatically reduce the levels of channels 2 to 4 by 16 dB. The front panel is made of brushed aluminium; the smooth-operating ALPS faders have additional guide rails. Four channels, Phono and Line inputs, and separate monitor and recording outputs make this model suitable for DJ setups with several analogue sources and a microphone.
