Product description M-Audio Avid Mikrofon Vocal Studio Pro
A microphone alone is not enough for recording vocals on a computer: the preamp, monitoring and recording software also need to work together. The complete recording set with interface M-Audio Avid Vocal Studio Pro combines a large-diaphragm condenser microphone, the M-Track USB audio/MIDI interface, headphones and two software packages. This allows you to record vocals, spoken-word audio or instruments and then edit them.
The microphone connects to the M-Track via XLR; its preamp features switchable 48 V phantom power for the condenser microphone. The interface connects to the computer via USB and is powered through the connection. Two XLR microphone inputs and two balanced 6.3 mm line inputs are available for recording. The line inputs can be switched to guitar level, allowing you to connect instruments directly as well.
When recording, you can monitor the input signal with zero latency via the headphone output. The headphone level can be adjusted separately; the balanced 6.3 mm main outputs also have their own level control. Two insert sockets – one for each input channel – allow you to integrate external effects. MIDI inputs and outputs complement the audio connections for compatible MIDI devices.
The software package includes Avid Pro Tools Express and Ignite by AIR Music Technology as downloads; an iLok USB key is included for Pro Tools Express. Pro Tools Express supports up to 16 mono or stereo tracks that can be used simultaneously, and includes virtual instruments such as Boom, Xpand!2 and Structure Free, as well as effect plug-ins. Ignite is designed for capturing, combining and arranging musical ideas. Projects can be exported as WAV, MP3 or MIDI files, among other formats, and imported into Pro Tools or another DAW.
The included studio headphones are designed for stereo monitoring. Their rotating ear cups and padded headband adapt to your wearing position. The large-diaphragm microphone with a cardioid polar pattern has a frequency response of 30 Hz to 20 kHz; the microphone mount and XLR cable are also included. The set is suitable for computer setups where you want to record vocals or speech, monitor them directly and edit them with the included software.
