Product description HK Audio PR:O 15 XD

The HK Audio PR:O 15 XD can be adapted to different sound reinforcement applications as a full-range speaker, satellite or stage monitor. Its 15-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter are driven by a 1200 W Class D amplifier in bi-amping configuration; the integrated DSP handles filtering and protection functions.

For use as a main speaker or monitor, it has a balanced XLR/jack combo input and an XLR Thru output. You can use the output to pass the input signal on to another speaker. The FIR crossover splits the frequency ranges at 2.5 kHz; Peak and RMS limiters protect the high-frequency and low-midrange sections separately.

The DSP controls are easy to use, with no nested menus. Use the Tone control to adjust the sound for music or speech, while the Flat and Boost presets let you choose a linear response or a bass boost. The calculated maximum SPL is 133 dB; the specified values are 125 dB average and 130 dB peak.

The 90° x 55° CD horn determines the dispersion in the high-frequency range. For stand mounting, the cabinet has a DuoTilt flange with 3° and 7° tilt options; when laid on its side, the speaker has a 42° monitor angle. Three M8 points are provided for installation, and two integrated handles make transport easier.

The wooden cabinet is made of MDF and protected by a metal grille with black acoustic foam. With its combo input, signal-through capability and DSP settings, the speaker is suited to mobile sound systems, stage monitor setups and systems with a subwoofer. It is a suitable choice if you are looking for an active 15-inch speaker with several placement options and simple tone control.
