Product description HK Audio Lucas Nano 608i

An integrated eight-channel mixer makes the PA system ready to use without a separate mixing desk: microphones, instruments and playback devices can be connected directly. The active 2.1 system with iPad remote control consists of a 10-inch subwoofer and two 4.5-inch satellites; together, the Class D amplifiers deliver 460 watts.

Four XLR/jack combo sockets accept microphones, instruments or line signals. You can switch on phantom power for condenser microphones on channels 1 and 2; these two mono inputs send their signal to both outputs. Two further jack inputs can also be used for microphone, instrument or line signals and operated as a stereo channel pair for line-level signals. An RCA/stereo mini-jack input and Bluetooth streaming are available for additional playback devices.

The integrated DSP preamp includes Contour tone control and seven built-in reverb programmes. The LUCAS NANO REMOTE iPad app gives you additional channel processing, including 4-band EQs, low-cut filters and compressors; a 7-band graphic EQ is available for the master. The app also includes pan, mute, level meters, and channel preset and scene management. Easy and Expert modes provide different levels of access to the mixing functions. The iPad is not included.

There are two speaker outputs, a recording output and a footswitch/Aux Send output for connecting external devices. The internal effects send can be switched to Aux Send, for example, to connect an external effects unit or a monitor system. Link In and Link Out allow the system to be connected to a second compatible system for Twin Stereo operation. Bluetooth connects to only one device at a time: if the iPad is paired for remote control, only that iPad can also stream audio.

The satellites can be connected as a stereo pair or as a Satellite Array. In the Mono Cube configuration, they attach directly to the subwoofer; Easy-Click transfers the signal without separate speaker cables. The optional S-Connect Pole LN signal-carrying distance pole also allows a Mono configuration above the subwoofer. Other setup options include Stereo and Twin Stereo configurations; the accessories required for these are available separately.

The compact system is suitable for performances and sound reinforcement situations where you want to mix several signal sources directly and choose between a Mono, Stereo or Twin Stereo setup. Integrated mixer and separate satellites are particularly useful when you want to avoid using a separate mixing desk and position the speakers to suit the room.
