Vinyl, CD players and other line sources can be combined through a mixer when a DJ setup requires several playback devices. The Gemini RMX3 is a three-channel 19-inch rack mixer with six line inputs, two of which can be switched between phono and line. This means you can also connect two turntables.

The unit has a graphic 5-band master EQ for adjusting the output sound. The microphone input has its own 2-band EQ and gain control, so you can adjust speech and vocals separately. The master and record outputs with RCA sockets route the signal to an amplifier or recording device; the master output can be switched between mono and stereo.

The crossfader operates between channels 2 and 3 and is a replaceable Rail Glide model. The headphone output lets you preview channels, and you can use the Cue/PGM control to mix the preview signal with the master output. A six-segment LED display can monitor either the master or preview signal.

With its 4U rack format, the mixer fits into a 19-inch rack and is suitable for DJ systems with several playback devices, a microphone, and separate master and recording paths. The input configuration, cue function and switchable master output are the main considerations for use in a rack or club installation.
