Gemini PS-828x

When several sources are connected to a compact DJ mixer, easily accessible channel controls and clear cue monitoring are essential. The Gemini PS-828x is a 10-inch 3-channel stereo mixer with six line inputs and two switchable phono/line RCA inputs. This lets you connect turntables and line-level sources, and switch the inputs to suit each source.

For sound shaping, each channel has a 3-band EQ with rotary gain. Filter, flanger and phaser effects are built in; you control them using the one-touch effect control and adjustable EFX parameter dial. An individual effect send for each channel lets you choose which channels to apply the effects to.

The Rail-Glide crossfader can be replaced via the removable faceplate. You can adjust its behaviour to suit your working style using the curve and reverse switches. For cueing, there is a cue volume control, a CUE/PGM control and a split-cue switch; the VU meters can be switched between master and cue monitoring.

For connecting your equipment, there are master and record outputs in RCA format, as well as a 6.3 mm headphone output. A microphone section with a volume control and high and low EQ completes the feature set. You control the master output with a separate rotary control; an iPod-compatible cable is included.

The mixer is suited to a DJ setup where several line-level sources and up to two phono sources are connected. Its channel EQs, built-in effects, cue functions and replaceable crossfader give you the controls you need for classic cueing and crossfading.
