Product description Gemini Portable Effects Unit DSP-1

The Gemini DSP-1 effects and synth sounds are ready for targeted interventions in the signal path. The compact effects unit processes two stereo channels and can be connected between a playback device and a mixer via RCA connections. You can select phono or line level for each input, so turntables can also be connected.

In EFX mode, twelve DSP effects with more than 1,200 parameter settings are available. These include Flanger, Chorus, Phaser, Delay, Echo, Pan, Fade and Brake. The jog wheel changes the effect parameter, while the Dry/Mix control determines the effect level. Press Play/Pause to switch the effect for the selected channel on or off.

Synth mode provides twelve sounds for short inserts, including Snare, Clap, Cymbal, Kick, Bass and Piano. You can trigger them directly using the buttons or start them as a loop by holding them down. The jog wheel then controls the tempo; depending on the mode, the LED display shows BPM or effect parameters. The volume control adjusts the level of the selected input.

On the rear panel are two stereo RCA input pairs and two stereo RCA output pairs. Each input can be switched individually between phono and line; grounding screws are provided for turntables. The outputs send the signal to DJ mixer channels or a playback device, for example. There is also a threaded mount on the underside for attaching the unit to a standard microphone stand.

With 24-bit A/D and D/A resolution, a weight of 1.35 kg and compact dimensions, the unit is suitable for mobile DJ setups as well as fixed rack or mixer installations. It is powered by the supplied 15 V/1 A power adapter. This makes the DSP-1 suitable for setups where you want to add effects and triggerable sounds to phono or line signals.
