Product description Edirol MIDI PCR-M1

A MIDI keyboard for use on the go needs to take up little space without compromising on full-size keys. The Edirol PCR-M1 combines 25 velocity-sensitive keys with a slim design and is designed for mobile setups with a computer and music software.

The S.L.I.M. keyboard is 28 mm high; the unit weighs 1.5 kg. You can power it via the USB connection, four AAA batteries or an optional PSA power adapter. A switch on the rear selects between DC, Off and USB. When powered via USB, it draws power from the connected device.

Eight assignable rotary controls, six buttons and connections for sustain and expression pedals are available for controlling software and MIDI devices. The SHIFT button lets you access additional MIDI assignments, allowing up to 27 controller assignments per map. 16 Control Maps store custom assignments for different applications. Limits can be set individually for each rotary control.

A detented rotary encoder, four mode buttons, and buttons for octave shifting and transposition round out the control surface. Pitch bend and modulation can be controlled separately. The three-digit LED display shows values; the PCR-M1 can send and receive MIDI messages via USB or its MIDI inputs and outputs. The integrated 1x1 MIDI interface connects external MIDI devices to the USB connection.

The PCR Editor software is used to set up assignments; additional presets are available to download. V-LINK supports control of compatible Roland video devices. You can connect the computer using USB Type B. The manual lists older operating systems and additional MIDI software requirements, which vary by platform.

The PCR-M1 is suited to mobile computer music setups that call for a compact keyboard, freely assignable controls and MIDI connections. USB, battery or power adapter operation gives you different power supply options; the optional power adapter is not included.
