Dynacord PowerSub 112

When active full-range speakers need support in the deep bass range, the subwoofer can be integrated directly into the signal path. The Dynacord PowerSub 112 is designed for this as a compact, active bass speaker with a 12-inch woofer and Class D amplifier. Its vented cabinet complements full-range systems such as the Dynacord D 8A and D 11A.

The built-in crossover operates at 120 Hz. Its Mid/High output passes the upper frequency band on to active full-range speakers, supporting the setup of an active three-way system. The output level remains independent of the subwoofer's volume control; you can also use Line Thru to pass the input signal on to additional devices. The Mid/High output and Line Thru therefore serve different purposes in the setup.

A line input accepts balanced signals via XLR or jack. You can adjust the gain using the level control, while the phase switch reverses the polarity by 180 degrees when needed – for example, to match the other speakers. A Limit indicator signals when the amplifier is reaching its limit; if it stays lit, the level needs to be reduced. Adjusting the level and polarity directly on the subwoofer makes it easier to match it to the connected system.

The cabinet has a black finish and, according to the product details, is fitted with castors. At 20 kg and with dimensions of 445 x 445 x 380 mm, this model is designed for mobile transport in PA setups. The castors make it easier to move, while the locking power connector supplies power.

The PowerSub 112 is suitable for active full-range speakers when you want to supplement the bass range and pass the signal on through the built-in crossover. The integrated Mid/High signal path is particularly practical for compact active systems with a subwoofer and tops.
