DJ-Tech DDM-2000

When four input sources, including turntables and a microphone, need to come together in an analogue DJ setup, a clear channel layout matters. The four-channel DJ mixer with USB audio DJ-Tech DDM-2000 combines line, phono, microphone and computer signals and provides several outputs for a sound system, monitoring and recording.

Each channel has gain, a three-band EQ and an LED level meter. The four RCA line inputs accept CD players and other line sources; channels 2 and 4 can also be switched to phono. You can connect a microphone to channel 1 via an XLR/jack combo socket. Another microphone can be connected via a separately adjustable jack input. Mix line and phono sources across four channels while keeping an eye on the levels.

The USB connection links the mixer to a Mac or PC and transfers audio signals for playback and recording. The USB signal is assigned to channel 3; the connection operates in stereo. Traktor 3 LE and Deckadance LE are included as DJ software. Computer audio via channel 3 therefore complements the analogue inputs, but does not replace a multi-channel USB audio interface.

The main output is available via balanced XLR sockets as well as an RCA output pair. Separate RCA outputs for Record and Zone allow you to connect a recording device and a monitoring system. You can cue the channels and assign each one to the left or right crossfader section, or send it directly to the master mix. At the headphone output, you can adjust the balance between the cue and master signals and choose between Split and Blend modes. Separate outputs for Master, Record and Zone make it easier to connect multiple signal paths.

The metal chassis, compact dimensions and clear level monitoring make it suitable for a fixed DJ setup as well as a portable one. Four channels with analogue source selection and a USB stereo path make this mixer suitable for DJs who want to combine turntables, line-level devices, microphones and computer audio in one unit.
