korg volca nubass vacuum tube synthesizer 2

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Korg Volca Nubass

A compact format, authentic analogue sound generation and an oscillator with a modern Nutube vacuum tube make the Korg Volca Nubass a standalone bass synthesiser for punchy sequences, warm lows and vibrant acid lines. This small groove machine combines the character of classic tube technology with direct access to filter, drive, sequencer and modulation. The result is bass sounds that do not feel sterile, but instead offer movement, body and an audible analogue colouration. Tube sound in pocket format At its heart is a Nutube oscillator, which produces sawtooth and square waves using genuine vacuum tube technology. The result is a thick, organic basic sound with overtones that clearly stand out from purely digital emulations. The sound is direct, tactile and can quickly be steered in a musical direction. An additional sub-oscillator works an octave lower and also features its own dedicated tube stage. This gives the bass more foundation without losing the compact character of the instrument. Particularly with repetitive sequences, this creates a stable base that fits well into electronic productions. Filter with bite and feeling The transistor ladder filter is one of the most important sound tools of the synthesiser. It reacts musically to movements, makes basslines sound tighter, sharper or more open, and brings the typical acid character to the fore at higher resonance settings. Together with the analogue overdrive, a broad spectrum is created, ranging from subtle saturation to significantly roughened distortion. The drive knob determines the intensity, while tone shapes the treble components. This allows you to keep the bass rounded and warm or to place it in the mix with more edge. Sequences that never stand still The integrated 16-step sequencer is more than a simple note manager. With real-time recording, step entry, motion sequences and a pattern chain function, ideas can be developed quickly and shaped directly. Up to 16 patterns can be saved and chained together. Accent, slide and transpose provide the typical movements that make electronic basslines lively. The random generator adds further variations and helps you break up stale patterns. This makes the device well-suited for spontaneous sketches, live jams and structured studio work. Small, direct, versatile connectivity With battery operation, an integrated speaker and a weight of just 0.37 kg, the synthesiser remains highly portable. You can use it independently of a fixed studio setup, capture ideas on the go, or integrate it as a standalone bass voice into an existing setup. Via MIDI In as well as Sync In and Sync Out, the Korg synthesiser can be connected to other Volcas, drum machines, sequencers or a DAW. The user interface remains deliberately direct. You do not need to navigate through nested menus; instead, you get immediate access to the most important sound and sequencer parameters. Who is the Korg Volca Nubass best suited for? This instrument is right for you if you are looking for a compact analogue bass synthesiser that delivers quick results while offering enough depth for your own sound design. For beginners, the direct operation is pleasantly intuitive. Advanced users will benefit from the sequencer functions, MIDI integration and the unique tube character in the oscillator. For electronic basslines, acid sequences and loop-based productions For mobile setups, small studios and live-oriented workflows For users who prefer analogue control over pure software operation Features Korg Volca Nubass Compact analogue bass synthesiser with Nutube oscillator for characterful tube sound Nutube-based sound generation with sawtooth and square waves for warm, overtone-rich bass sounds Sub-oscillator with dedicated tube stage for additional foundation one octave below the main oscillator Transistor ladder filter with dynamic resonance for classic bass machine and acid timbres Analogue overdrive circuit with drive and tone controls for variable saturation and distortion 16-step sequencer with real-time recording, step entry, motion sequences and pattern chain function Accent, slide and transpose functions for expressive and lively bass sequences Random generator for varying sequences and parameter movements MIDI In as well as Sync In and Sync Out for integration into existing hardware and software setups Battery-powered housing with integrated speaker for flexible use on the go or in the studio Technical data KeyboardMulti Touch Keyboard | Step buttons Synthesis typeAnalogue synthesis Maximum polyphony1 StructureVTO Oscillator | Sub-oscillator | VCF | VCA | EG | LFO | Overdrive Sequencer parts1 Number of steps16 with pattern chain function Storable patterns16 | Patterns 1–10 pre-installed Audio output3.5 mm stereo mini jack for headphones SyncSync In | Sync Out via 3.5 mm mini jack MIDIMIDI In Power supply6 x AA alkaline or NiMH batteries | KA-350 power supply not included Battery lifeUp to 8 hours Weight0.37 kg Dimensions (W x D x H)193 x 115 x 46 mm Included in delivery Korg Volca Nubass bass synthesiser Sync cable

Yamaha AG03 MK2

For livestreaming, the microphone, instrument and computer audio need to come together in a clear signal path. The Yamaha AG03 MK2 is a 3-channel mixer with USB audio interface that combines the connections, loopback and directly accessible DSP functions required for this. An XLR/jack combo input accepts microphone or line signals; +48 V phantom power can be switched on for condenser microphones. There is also a mono guitar input and two 6.3 mm jack inputs for stereo line sources. You can connect a smartphone via the four-pole 3.5 mm TRRS connector. A headset microphone can also be connected via 3.5 mm, but not at the same time as the combo input. For streams, you can choose whether the output signal is dry from channels 1 and 2G, as an input mix or with the computer signal via loopback. The loopback and streaming selection combines connected sources and computer audio for streaming or recording. The Mix-Minus-Mic function can be switched on or off; the Mute button mutes the signal for short interruptions. Two PAD buttons and a HI-Z switch round out the input controls. COMP/EQ, SPX Reverb and amp simulation run via the integrated DSP. The effects can be controlled directly on the unit and fine-tuned using the AG DSP Controller; the app is available for Windows, Mac and iOS. The USB-C interface transfers audio at 24 bit and up to 192 kHz and operates as a 2-in/2-out interface. For headphones, there is a 6.3 mm output and a 3.5 mm headset headphone output, which cannot be used at the same time. You can connect monitors either via two 6.3 mm jack sockets or RCA connectors. Connect to a computer via USB-C. For an iPhone or iPad, you need an Apple Camera Adapter and an external USB power supply; the adapter is not included. Android devices can be connected via the TRRS connector. The appropriate connection type depends on the device you are using. Cubase AI, WaveLab Cast, Cubasis LE and Rec'n'Share are available to download. With its direct inputs, USB audio interface and streaming functions, the mixer is suited to compact setups for livestreams, webcasts, online meetings and music recording. The combination of a TRRS connector and loopback is particularly relevant if you want to include a smartphone or computer signal in a stream alongside a microphone and instrument. Roland FP-E50

A piano part can carry a band, but when arranging, it is often exactly the accompaniment over which a melody or vocals can develop that is missing. The Roland FP-E50 combines a portable digital piano with arranger functions, microphone processing, and a wide sound library for lessons, song ideas, and performances. 88 keys with PHA-4 Standard action The weighted PHA-4 Standard keyboard with 88 keys features escapement and an Ivory Feel surface. Together with the SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine, it reacts to touch dynamics and provides direct access to acoustic piano sounds. Two headphone jacks are available for practicing; the integrated 3D Ambience enhances spatial hearing when using headphones. ZEN-Core sounds for split, layer, and band arrangements In addition to the piano, there are 1,018 sounds from the expandable ZEN-Core Sound Engine available. These include electric pianos, strings, organs, and pads, as well as synthesizer, guitar, bass, and drum sounds. You can layer sounds or split the keyboard into two areas, for example for bass on the left and piano or brass on the right. Via Roland Cloud, you can add Z-Style Packs, EXZ Wave Expansions, and SDZ Sound Packs. Favorite Tones and Scene memories help you recall frequently used sound combinations and complete settings without having to set them up before every rehearsal. Auto-accompaniment and chord sequencer The auto-accompaniment contains 177 preset styles and reacts to the chords played with your left hand. Simple one-finger triggering and full chord recognition cover different playing styles. With intros, endings, variations, and the Interactive function, you control the progression of the accompaniment directly from the instrument. The chord sequencer provides 140 preset chord progressions and can store 256 of your own patterns. This is suitable for developing melodies or singing while the harmony and arrangement continue to play. Audio recordings can be created in WAV format and supplemented step-by-step with overdubbing. Microphone, vocal effects, and connections At the 6.3 mm microphone input, you can process vocals with Auto Harmony in nine variations, a compressor, and a noise suppressor. Additionally, a Voice Transformer, Vocal Designer, and Vocoder are available. This allows the keyboard, accompaniment, and vocals to be combined directly through the internal speaker system. Bluetooth transmits audio from a mobile device to the piano and MIDI via Bluetooth Low Energy. For external equipment, there are stereo inputs and outputs, USB-A for storage media, and USB-B for audio and MIDI on a computer. Two 11-watt speakers provide sound for the room, while an external sound system can be connected via the outputs. Is the Roland FP-E50 right for your playing style? The Roland FP-E50 is suitable for piano players who want to use a complete musical environment on the instrument when practicing, writing, or performing. The weighted keyboard and piano sound form the base, while styles, split zones, and ZEN-Core sounds provide room for different musical genres. The instrument is also well-positioned for singer-songwriters and entertainers: the microphone input, harmony effects, recorder, and quickly recallable scenes bundle central functions in one mobile housing. At 17.1 kg, it remains manageable for changing rehearsal rooms, small stages, and use at home. Korg Volca Modular

Compact modular synthesis meets a direct and practical approach to creative sound design. The Korg Volca Modular combines the freedom of a freely patchable system with a clear structure that enables both spontaneous experiments and targeted sound development. Eight function modules, numerous patch points, and an integrated sequencer create a versatile platform for unusual sound progressions, rhythmic structures, and vivid modulations – all without the need for extensive prior knowledge. Think modular, get started immediately The combination of eight independent modules and a pre-configured basic circuit ensures that you can start sound generation right away. At the same time, the generous patch field with 50 colour-coded patch points opens up numerous possibilities to create your own signal paths and develop individual sounds. Thanks to the clear labelling of the connections, you can quickly find your way around and easily experiment with new routings. The included patch cables make it even easier to get started and make the path to your own sound ideas particularly accessible. Rediscover West Coast synthesis At the heart is a sound concept that consciously differs from classic synthesizer structures. The SOURCE module generates complex waveforms that are further processed by the integrated wave folder, thereby delivering particularly overtone-rich results. The dual LPG circuit combines the tasks of a filter and an amplifier in one module. This allows you to influence volume and timbre simultaneously, leading to organic and dynamic sound progressions that are typical of the West Coast approach. Movement and chance in the sequencer The integrated 16-step sequencer brings your patches to life. Real-time recording, motion sequence, and pattern chaining allow for varied sequences, while parameter automations create continuous changes within a pattern. 16-step sequencer with real-time recording Motion sequence for automated parameters Pattern chain for longer sequences Bounce and stochastic modes for varying sequences Randomize function for spontaneous ideas The bounce and stochastic modes in particular provide surprising rhythmic and melodic variations without having to completely reprogram existing patterns. Mobile and flexibly integrable With an integrated speaker, battery operation, and compact dimensions, the synthesizer can accompany you on the go. The battery life of up to ten hours allows for longer sessions without external power supply. The CV connection is particularly practical, allowing you to control external parameters or expand existing setups. Via Sync In and Sync Out, the instrument can be easily synchronized with other devices from the Volca series or compatible setups. This quickly creates a cohesive system for electronic music productions and live applications. Who is the Korg Volca Modular suitable for? This model is particularly well-suited for anyone looking to get started with modular synthesis or wishing to add a compact system for creative experiments. Due to the intuitive structure, beginners benefit just as much as experienced sound designers who are specifically looking for a compact instrument with an independent sound character. Suitable for beginners in modular synthesis Interesting for sound designers and experimental musicians Ideal for mobile setups and desktop studios Suitable for users of CV- and sync-based systems Useful for anyone wanting to explore West Coast sound concepts Features Korg Volca Modular Compact semi-modular analogue synthesizer with freely patchable sound architecture Eight independent modules with internal basic wiring for an immediate start 50 colour-coded patch points for flexible and clear signal routing SOURCE module with FM oscillator and wave folder for complex overtone structures Two envelope generators with loop function, usable as LFO or additional oscillator WOGGLE module for generating random modulation signals based on the sample-and-hold principle Dual LPG as a combination of filter and amplifier based on the West Coast concept Digital reverb for spatial sound expansion 16-step sequencer with real-time recording, motion sequence, pattern chain, and randomize Bounce and stochastic modes for varying rhythmic and melodic sequences 14 scale modes with micro-tuning and freely definable root note Integrated speaker, battery operation, plus sync and CV connectivity for flexible applications Technical specifications Synthesis typeAnalogue synthesis Modules8 Polyphony1 Sequencer steps16 Storable patterns16 EffectsReverb (digital) Audio output3.5 mm stereo mini-jack Sync connectionsSync In 3.5 mm mono | Sync Out 3.5 mm mono Control InCV-IN via 3.5 mm TRS Power supply6 x AA batteries or KA-350 power adapter Battery lifeapprox. 10 hours (alkaline) Weight0.377 kg Dimensions (W x D x H)193 x 115 x 39 mm Included in delivery Korg Volca Modular synthesizer Patch cable set Sync cable Module reference list

Decksaver Allen & Heath QU32

The faders and controls on the Allen & Heath QU32 are exposed when the mixer is not in use. The precision-fit polycarbonate dust cover simply sits on top and protects the surface from dust, dirt and liquids. The shape is tailored to the QU32 and allows cables to remain connected, so you do not have to unplug them to cover it. The low-profile cover shields the faders and controls during transport too; the translucent, frosted material leaves the mixer visible underneath. Polycarbonate is resistant to scratches and cracking. Keep the cover away from direct heat sources and sunlight. The QU32 itself is not included. The cover is suitable for permanent setups in studios, clubs or event spaces, and is also suitable for protection during transport. It is a practical addition if you want to cover your Allen & Heath QU32 between uses without removing the connected cables.
