If a microphone and several stereo sources need to be controlled together, a large mixing desk is not necessarily required. The Behringer Eurorack UB 502 combines a mono microphone/line channel with two stereo channels in a compact 5-input mixer. Its two stereo line channels are suitable for combining playback devices, while the microphone channel allows the signal level and tone to be adjusted separately.

The mono channel features an IMP microphone preamp with up to 60 dB of gain. Tone adjustment is provided by a 2-band EQ: bass at 80 Hz and treble at 12 kHz can each be boosted or cut by up to 15 dB. A Peak LED indicates when the input level is too high. The channel's microphone and line inputs are available as alternatives and cannot be used simultaneously.

The two stereo channels accept line signals via two balanced 6.3 mm jack inputs each. If only the left input is used, the channel can also be used in mono. RCA tape inputs are also available for an additional stereo source. This can be assigned to the Main Mix or the headphone output; separate RCA tape outputs also provide an output for the signal.

The Main outputs connect to the PA system, while a separate headphone output is provided for monitoring while mixing. Channel levels and the Main Mix are controlled directly on the unit. The UB 502 has no effects send paths. ALPS rotary controls and a steel housing are part of the design; power is supplied by an external power supply.

With its five balanced line inputs, microphone preamp and separate Main, Tape and headphone connections, the mixer is suitable for fixed installations and multimedia applications. It is a compact solution when you want to combine a few microphone and line signals and monitor the Tape input flexibly or assign it to the main mix.
