Product description Behringer DJX-400
When two stereo sources are connected to each of two mixing channels, you can switch between the sources directly on the channel. The Behringer PRO MIXER DJX-400 is designed for this workflow: it handles up to four stereo sources and adds BPM display, cue monitoring and an adjustable 3-band EQ to DJ mixing.
Each of the two stereo channels accommodates one phono and one line source. Use Gain and the 3-band tone controls to adjust the level and frequency ranges; the EQ can cut low, mid and high frequencies by up to −32 dB each. A switchable XPQ-3D surround effect changes the stereo image. The crossfader curve is switchable, allowing you to adapt it to the desired transition behaviour.
The integrated Auto-BPM counter detects the tempo for both channels and displays beat and tempo synchronisation. The Sync-Lock and Beat-Assist functions help you match tempos. For monitoring, you can route the channels or the master signal to the headphone output; the PFL function also offers a split mode that routes the cue and master signals separately to the two sides of the headphones.
A dedicated microphone input with a 2-band EQ is available for speech. The effects section uses Send and Return to route an external effects unit into the signal path. The Master, Tape and Send outputs connect to the PA system, recording equipment and effects unit; an assignable level meter with Peak Hold helps you monitor levels.
The DJX-400 is suitable for a compact analogue DJ setup with turntables or line sources, a microphone and an external effects unit. Its key features are two channels for four stereo sources, the PFL cue-monitoring function and separate outputs for Master, Tape and the effects loop.
