American Audio DV2 USB

Analogue sources and DJ software can be combined on one mixer if the inputs, outputs and computer connection are matched to each other. The American Audio DV2 USB is a 2-channel MIDI mixer with a 4x4 USB audio interface: You can connect phono, line and aux sources and simultaneously connect the mixer to DJ software for audio and MIDI.

Each of the two channels provides phono, line and aux inputs; a microphone input is also included. The USB sound card routes four audio channels to and from the computer. This allows you to integrate compatible software into your setup and combine external sources with computer-based audio material. The USB connection transmits audio and MIDI; no software is included in the scope of delivery.

The channel strips each offer a 3-band rotary EQ with kill buttons. You can adjust the response of both channel faders with the separately adjustable fader curves; the reverse switches reverse their operating direction. The crossfader curve can also be adjusted from short to long and reversed using a reverse switch. Curves and reverse functions are controlled separately, so you can adapt the channel and crossfader independently to your working style.

The optical crossfader is designed for a high number of movements and, according to product specifications, has been tested for more than one million movements. For compatible American Audio or American DJ CD/MP3 players, the mixer also supports Q-Start: The crossfader movement can trigger the remote start at the cue point. Q-Start requires a compatible player.

For connection to a sound system, there are balanced XLR outputs as well as unbalanced master and recording outputs via RCA. A headphone output is available as a 3.5 mm and a 6.3 mm jack socket. The microphone has its own volume control and a 2-band EQ for treble and bass; the talkover button reduces the channel signal by 15 dB. XLR and RCA outputs cover the connection to different sound systems and recording paths.

The DV2 USB is suitable for DJ setups in which analogue players and computer audio are to converge on two channels. The key factors here are the required phono, line and aux inputs, the 4x4 USB connection and the type of connection to the sound system. For compact setups with two mixing channels, the model combines classic sources with MIDI and USB audio functions.
