Product description Akai Professional MPK61

A 61-key controller gives you enough room for two-handed parts and split keyboard zones. The Akai MPK61 combines a synth-weighted keyboard with aftertouch with 16 pressure- and velocity-sensitive MPC pads and extensive MIDI controls for studio and performance use.

With Key Split, you can play two sounds simultaneously across different keyboard zones. The 16 pads can be distributed across four banks, giving you a total of 64 pad assignments. MPC Note Repeat, MPC Swing and the arpeggiator support you when recording rhythmic and melodic phrases; Tap Tempo and Time Division are used to control the tempo and repeat resolution.

For controlling software and MIDI devices, 24 assignable Q-Link controllers are available: eight rotary knobs, eight faders and eight switches, each across three banks. This lets you assign up to 72 parameters. A backlit custom LCD displays settings. Transport buttons send control commands to sequencers and DAWs; MMC, MIDI Start/Stop and MIDI CC are available as programmable controllers.

The pads also support MPC Full Level and MPC 16-Level, which let you use velocity and dynamics deliberately when playing. A programmable footswitch input is provided and can also be used for patch changes. The controller is Class Compliant and can be connected to compatible MIDI software via USB; a standard MIDI input and output are also available. Power is supplied via USB or an external 6 V power supply.
