Product description AKAI Professional MPC Element
When beatmaking on a computer, you can play and trigger sounds directly using velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads. The 16-pad controller for Mac and PC combines this way of working with features such as Note Repeat, Swing and Tap Tempo, and can also control MIDI software or plug-ins.
The pads are illuminated in multiple colours and respond to velocity and pressure. With Note Repeat, Full Level and 16 Level, you can control repeats and velocity dynamics as you play; Tap Tempo lets you enter the tempo directly on the device. The brushed aluminium surface can be covered with an integrated protective cover.
You connect the controller to your computer via USB, which also powers it; no separate power supply is required. MIDI inputs and outputs are available for external MIDI devices and can be connected to five-pin MIDI ports using the supplied adapter cables. You can also control other MIDI-compatible music software.
MPC Essentials, production software designed for the controller, is included. You can use it on its own or as a VST, RTAS or AU plug-in in a DAW. The software supports 32-bit and 64-bit systems, can be opened an unlimited number of times in a DAW and can serve as a host for VST plug-ins. WAV and AIFF files can also be exported.
The software includes a 1 GB sound library and supports importing your own WAV and AIFF samples, which you can freely assign to the pads. Up to eight pad banks with a total of 128 pads are available; each pad can use up to four samples and four insert effects. This makes the set suitable for beatmaking and sample-based productions on a computer, as well as for MIDI control in an existing setup.
