Rode NT2-A

An extremely versatile studio microphone: directional pattern, high-pass filter and pre-attenuation can each be switched in three stages on the microphone body. The self-noise of the NT2-A is sensationally low at 7 dBA. The ultra-fine (5 µm), gold-coated and elastically mounted dual diaphragm "HF-1" is a RØDE proprietary development and allows the NT2-A to be used as a cardioid, omnidirectional or figure-of-eight microphone. The NT2-A transmits sound sources with the silky, warm charm familiar from cult microphones of the 1950s and 1960s. Wonderful, then, for vocals, woodwinds, strings and guitars.

The high limiting sound level (with pre-attenuation: 157 dB) also predestines this microphone for brass, guitar amplifiers, as an overhead mic and for miking a concert grand piano. With the NT2-A, you really have something in your hand (860 g); the workmanship is flawless, the basket is made of heat-treated steel wire, and the satin nickel-plated metal housing is not only extremely robust, but also looks classy. In 2006, the NT2-A won the MIPA for Best Studio Microphone and the Editor's Choice Award from Electronic Musicians magazine.

Included with the NT2-A are the deluxe "SM6" spider with integrated pop shield, a 6m XLR cable and a dust bag. The NT2-A is manufactured by RØDE in Australia, and registered users receive a 10-year warranty at Rode.
