Rode VideoMic Me

Extremely compact and professional mono directional microphone that can significantly enhance the sound quality of a smartphone for audio and video recordings. The VideoMic Me is simply plugged into the headset jack of the smartphone with its TRRS connector, and you can use it to make broadcast-quality original sound recordings, facing forward or in selfie mode - depending on the plug-in direction. The VideoMic Me is also suitable for older iPhones that still have a 3.5 mm headset jack.

A 3.5 mm headphone jack is built into the back of the VideoMic Me. If the app allows it, you can already control the sound during recording, in any case you save the annoying change from microphone to headphones.

The VideoMic Me has an aluminum housing with a scratch-resistant ceramic coating, which makes it insensitive to interference and ensures that it will still look decent even after years. Included in the package is the deluxe WS9 windscreen, which you should always put on when shooting outdoors. The windscreen has a thick foam inner layer and filters out disturbing air noises up to approx. wind force 5 with its synthetic fur.

The microphone capsule of the VideoMic Me has an angle of incidence of about 90°. If you open both of your hands at a right angle to the front, you can easily see which sound sources are within the pickup range and will therefore be recorded with priority. As a mono directional microphone, the VideoMic Me is generally recommended for voice recordings, as well as for any other type of sound source that is located in front of you - i.e. on axis in the image frame. It is especially ideal for close-up shots: sound coming from the side and from behind are largely ignored.

The VideoMic Me comes with a deluxe WS9 windscreen and a clip. The microphone is manufactured by RØDE in Australia.
