ESI U46 XL

The ESI U46 XL is an innovative High-Quality multi-purpose 4-in/ 6-out USB recording interface featuring 2 stereo line inputs, a microphone input with +48 V phantom power and a headphone output. Compared to its predecessor, the U46DJ, the ESI U46 XL provides a professional microphone preamplifier with XLR input as well as an improved analog circuitry improving the audio quality.

The DirectWIRE support in the driver enables you to record signals from one application to another internally. The ESI U46 XL works with this driver based on the EWDM technology by ESI and is compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista/7/8 as well as with Mac OS X.

There is also an instrument input (Hi-Z) included, typically to connect a guitar directly to it. A totally separate stereo line input on the backside delivers 4 simultaneously usable input channels at one time. For multi-channel playback applications (f.ex. to provide individual outputs for software synthesizers, to provide independent playback channels for DJ software or to provide surround playback capability via a 5.1 setup) the unit also incorporates 6 independent individual outputs on the backside. To connect the ESI U46 XL to professional stereo studio monitors, a separate mix output with professional TRS outputs can be used.

The software Cubase LE from Steinberg works on Mac and PC and is included in delivery. Like this, you can start recording on a professional level right out of the box.
