ESI Dr. DAC prime

The ESI Dr. DAC prime delivers pristine audio quality, no matter if you're on the road or at home. The Audio Interface simply has everything you need in order to listen to digital music in a good and accurate quality.

The built-in headphone amplifier provides 1/8" and 1/4" connectors. There is also an integrated TI PCM1796 DAC with 123 dB(a) dynamic range which delivers a full differential output with 3 LME49860NA opamps (8 pin) (which are conveniently placed on sockets). The TI PCM1796 DAC also generates the actual analog output signal. To send out the maximum dynamic range, it is also possible to adjust or to fix the line output volume.

The ESI Dr. DAC prime is not only equipped with both an optical (via the included miniplug-toslink adapter) and coaxial S/PDIF input, but also with a full USB audio interface (up to 24 bit/96 kHz) for bit-perfect audio transfer. In addition, it works with up to 24 bit/192 kHz. By using a TI SRC4382 high end sample rate converter, you can optionally upsample the incoming signal to 192 kHz.

Even without the installation of any driver software, the audio interface ESI Dr. DAC prime is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Mac OS X. Furthermore, there is also an ASIO 2.0 offered by ESI, a compatible driver as alternative for Windows XP, Vista, 7 & 8. That means Plug & Play in Perfection, it could not be more simple.
