Rode NT5-MP

RØDE's small diaphragm classic and in "matched pair" with case one of the best-selling RØDE microphone models. The gold-plated 1/2" diaphragm of the 11.8 cm long cardioid condenser microphone, in conjunction with the high-quality components on the SMD board, guarantees the highest transmission quality. Like most RØDE microphones, the NT5 features a subtle presence boost that adds a silky sheen to the recorded signal.

Although also available separately (NT5-S), the NT5-MP has become one of RØDE's best-selling items for a reason. At an amazingly affordable price, you get a selected and perfectly matched pair of microphones that are ideal for XY and AB miking, among other applications.

The application possibilities are manifold: the NT5s are ideal for string or choir recordings and as overheads. However, due to the robust workmanship, the good-natured NT5s are also frequently used in sound reinforcement applications. Incidentally, the NT5s fulfill all that is expected of a good small-diaphragm microphone in a classic design, namely a crystal-clear and balanced sound for snare and hi-hat, for woodwinds of all kinds as well as acoustic stringed instruments and percussion, in short: for all sound sources with important transients.

By the way: the cardioid capsule of the NT5 can be easily unscrewed and replaced by the optionally available "NT45-O": this way you get a true omnidirectional microphone!

The NT5-MP comes in an ABS case with two windscreens (WS5) and two tripod clamps (RM5). The NT5s are manufactured by RØDE in Australia, and registered users receive a 10-year warranty directly from Rode.
