Boss DR-01S

Unlike most drum and rhythm machines that are geared toward electronic instruments, BOSS designed the DR-01S Rhythm Partner entirely for acoustic musicians. Basic sounds include shakers, maracas, conga and cajon, for example, in addition to acoustic drums. You can also count on excellent sound quality, as these sounds come directly from top-of-the-line BOSS and Roland products.

Most rhythm machines are relatively inflexible in their patterns. With the DR-01S, BOSS has decided to create a little more room for customization. It's quite easy to recall simple patterns with different variations that fit almost any acoustic style you want to play.

Instruments can be removed or added from the mix above this to add variety. Volume and tempo controls are just a button press away, and there are additional features for count-in and metronome modes.

Want to jam out to your favorite songs? No problem. Just plug a device of choice into the DR-01S's aux-in jack, and you can play backing tracks from a media player. You can also connect a larger PA via the line-out jack. Another great feature of the DR-01S Rhythm Partner is its easy configuration with external footswitches. A series of footswitches can be used to control start/stop, tap tempo and sound triggering on the fly.
